Bye Bye Empties, July 2017

July has been such an amazing month! I was guest again on MyLipAddiction.com Beauty Podcast with Cat which is always fun! If you haven’t had a chance to listen you can find all the links in my post here. I also travelled to Las Vegas for a bachelorette weekend which I shared a bit of on my instagram. Lastly, I was invited the Estee Lauder Fall Preview, you can read that post here.

I’m looking forward to August! I have more travel plans and looking forward to more summer fun!

Skincare
Empties_July 2017_LBL (5)

I used up my Sephora Rose Cleansing Wipes soon after I did my post on my Night Time Routine. These wipes were OK. Although they worked for removing face makeup, I couldn’t use it around my eyes which is really important to me so I won’t be repurchasing them. I also finished my bottle of Nivea’s 3 in 1 Micellar Water. I received this product through Chickadvisor.ca to try and review and I thought it was quite nice! It removed all of my makeup including any waterproof mascara or eyeliner easily. I would definitely repurchase this.
Empties_July 2017_LBL (2)I received this Pur-Lisse Face Mask from my May 2107 Topbox and I was really excited to give it a try. The packaging reads that this is intensely moisturizing but after trying it my skin felt tight and dehydrated. I don’t think I would purchase this product. The next mask I used was the Green Tea Mask from the The Face Shop. This mask is meant to purify the skin. After use I had really nice clean skin that felt really clear. I can’t ever go wrong with the Face Shop masks, they are reasonably priced and work really well for me.

Body Care
Empties_July 2017_LBL (3)

I go through my Yves Rocher Body Wash pretty quickly. It’s because I also like to use them for bubble baths too. This one has a very nice minty/tea scent which I enjoy because it just smells clean. I also finished up my Bath and Body Works Gentle Foaming Hand Soap in Turquiose Waters. Anything from Bath and Body Works that has any beach theme is a scent I tend to enjoy most. Again, they just smell clean and fresh and are usually not crazy strong. I will be repurchasing both of these items although currently I’ve bought a 1 litre bottle of refillable hand soap so it may be a while before I get another body shop soap! LOL!

Hair Care
Empties_July 2017_LBL (4)

I’ve had this N4 Lumiere d’hiver Super Comb Prep & Protect spray for such a long time. I got it in my January 2016 Birchbox (oh Birchbox, why won’t you come back to Canada!!). I wasn’t a fan of any of the products I tried from this brand and this leave-in conditioner wasn’t much different. I really wanted to like it because it claimed to be good to de-tangle the hair as well has providing UV and colour protection. I never really had a chance to really test any of this out because I just got lazy to use it and eventually it started to smell REALLY bad! I won’t be purchasing a full size of this.

There you have it! All the items I managed to finish up.

What have you used up lately? Have you tried any of the items I’ve listed above?

Lots of Love,
Dal

Estee Lauder Fall 2017 Preview Event

Summer is not over but it’s always fun to take a glimpse of what’s to come in beauty for Fall. I tend to be bolder with my makeup in Fall while starting my cold weather hydration routine and looking at Estee Lauder’s Fall Preview I see a lot of items that will do just that!
Estee Lauder Fall Preview_LBL (13)The event was held at the Thompson Hotel in Downtown Toronto. They had transformed one of penthouse suites into a beautiful backdrop for all the gorgeous items. As I entered the living room bottles of the Aerin Fragrances welcomed me in. Aerin will have two new fragrances for the fall, Tuberose Le Jour and Tuberose Le Soir a day and night scent. I love that they compliment each other so that you can wear them layered to go from day to night. Guests were treated to a delectable array of treats in the kitchen. I had a few bites before I headed to the dining area to check out the skincare items!
Estee Lauder Fall Preview_LBL (14)I love Estee Lauder skincare and at the event I got acquainted with their Re-Nutriv line. I fell in love with the Ultimate Lift Regenerating Youth which is infused with exclusive Floralixir™ Dew derived from the Himalayan Gentian and Brazilian Everlasting. These flowers thrive in extreme climates and mixed with Estee Lauder’s skincare technology help to increase natural collagen production. The cream is meant to give you a smoother, firmer, more lifted look. This felt very light and I could feel immediate hydration and firmness when I placed it on my skin. The Revitalizing Supreme + also caught my eye. This is designed to hydrate after cleansing (especially at night). Although I don’t have wrinkles now, I’m always on the hunt for skincare products that help prevent them. Both of these are items I would work into my skincare routine.
Estee Lauder Fall Preview_LBL (15)Next to all the amazing skincare were a few new lipsticks and mascaras that I was really excited about! First of all, the Pure Color Envy lipstick shades are gorgeous! I have a few lipsticks from this line that are quite awesome. They are hydrating and apply smooth on the lip. They are also long wearing on me. I usually see darker shades for Fall but after looking at the colours here I feel like it’ll be all about a bright wash of colour which is exciting. High Level has to be my favourite shade for Fall (it’s the coral shade at the very left in my photo above). The Pure Color Envy Lash are really fun mascaras! I did a swatch of the green shade and it’s as bright as the tube! I would probably want to try out the dark blue for Fall.
Estee Lauder Fall Preview_LBL (1)Everyone was flocking to the yummy wall of donut foundation! LOL! I have to give it to Estee Lauder, this was pretty adorable! There was tons of snacks and candy everywhere but this wall was just irresistible! The shades on the wall represented the many shades in the new Double Wear Nude Water Fresh Makeup. This foundation has SPF 30, and is very light and liquid.
Estee Lauder Fall Preview_LBL (9)To apply, you open the cap and place your finger over the bottle to cover it while you shake it. The amount of product that is left on your finger will be enough to cover half your face! You can even apply it with your fingers because the formula blends in very easily using the warmth of your hands. This is great for all skin types since it prevents excess oil from developing on the skin while keeping it hydrated.Estee Lauder Fall Preview_LBL (8)The item that got me so excited is the Advanced Night Repair Eye Cencentrate Matrix. This item is a dream for me because I wear concealer and eye shadow on a pretty regular basis.
Estee Lauder Fall Preview_LBL (6)Not only is this designed to target the signs of eye aging, it provides a cushion for concealer and can be used as an eye primer! I love double duty items!

I’ve learned so much at the Estee Lauder Fall Preview and I’m excited for these items.

What are you most excited for in makeup come the Fall? Also, do you like rocking a colourful mascara? If so, how to you wear it?

Lots of Love,
Dal

Thank you to the Estee Lauder team for a beautiful event!

Unboxing Topbox, July 2017

Price: $12.00 CAD (plus tax, free shipping) 4 items.

Topbox is a Canadian monthly beauty subscription service. Each month you have the option of getting a surprise box or to swap it for a prive box where all the products are from one brand and you know what they are. This month I opted for a surprise box!

Prices are in Canadian Dollars

Essie Nail Lacquer in b’aha moment!
Full Size Price: $9.00 (13.5 mL)
Topbox July 2017_LBL (7)
Ah! This colour is so fun! It’s a nice raspberry that is perfect for summer. I have quite a few nail lacquers from Essie because I like the formula. It’s a bit thinner so you need about 3 coats to make it opaque but I like that it dries pretty quickly in between.

LARITZY Cosmetics Undressed Liquid Lip Stain in shade Pebble
Full Size Price: $21.00 (1oz)
Topbox July 2017_LBL (2)
I did a swatch of this on the back of my hand and I find this dries down to a pretty matte. I love the dark nude shade, it’s very pretty although I think I might save it to use in the fall. PLUS I have a few other lipsticks in this colour so I’m not rushing to use this just yet.

Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer
Full Size Price: $27.00 (5 g), Sample Price: $8.64 (1.6 g)
Topbox July 2017_LBL (5)
Ya! A new Benefit product! This is meant to be a soft-focus, lightweight concealer. To apply you pat and blend this under the eyes or around the face. I used this about a day or two ago and it reminds me of Becca’s Under Eye Brightening Corrector in consistency and it’s as lightweight as that formula but it’s a concealer. I like a little more coverage under my eyes but I do think that it’ll work fine if I’m wearing a full coverage foundation.

GLAMGLOW SUPERMUD® CLEARING TREATMENT
Full Size Price: $79.00 (50 g), Sample Price: $23.70 (15 g)
Topbox July 2017_LBL (3)
I love receiving Glamglow samples because the full size of any of their products is so very expensive in my opinion. For this treatment, you apply a thin layer over the skin and after 5-20 mins wash it off. I would probably use this as a spot treatment every week or so and I think this will last me quite a long time.

BONUS! Garnier Skinactive Moisture Bomb
Topbox July 2017_LBL (4)
I absolutely love this little moisturizer. Garnier surprised me lately with their products and I’ve been enjoying them ever since. If you’re curious of my thoughts on Garnier BB Creams or skincare products you can read them here. This sample reminds me of the Bliss drench n’ quench because it’s very light and creamy. It feels almost gel-like.

Swatches!

My Thoughts

Topbox did not disappoint this month! I received items that I’m very excited to try. I’m really curious about how I like the Benefit concealer as I try it with different foundations and how well it holds up in the heat. I’m also in love with the colour of my Essie polish and can’t wait to clear my skin with some Glamglow masking tonight! Total Value of my box; $62.34 (not including bonus item)

Did you get Topbox this month? Anything excite you from the box?

Lots of Love,
Dal

Unboxing Boxycharm, July 2017

Price: $21.00 USD (+$5.00 shipping to Canada) Number of items: 4-5 full-size items.
Boxycharm is a monthly subscription box of full-size makeup, skincare and beauty tools. This is hands-down my favourite box from Boxycharm yet! The theme for this month is CutiePie.

All prices in USD, converted to CAD at the end

blinc Electric eyes palette
Retail Price: $45.00 USD
Unboxing Boxycharm July 2017 (2)I was really excited to see this palette in the box because I’ve seen some of their mascara’s at Sephora. When I opened it I was floored by the beautiful colours! They are jewel tone shades that are  highly pigmented and so creamy to the touch. I love the golds and bronzes and the pop of raspberry here.
Unboxing Boxycharm July 2017 (3)At first glance four of the five shades do look similar but when you actually put them on your eyes or Swatch them on the skin they are completely different. I’ve applied these both wet and dry and the pigmentation is very impressive. The only downside ts that they’re all shimmers so I would have to use it with another matte palette to make it work for the types of looks that I like to do.

Colour-pop matte lip in lock diary
Retail Price: $6.00 USD
Unboxing Boxycharm July 2017 (7)

I love the pigmentation of Colourpop glosses and I do think that for the price they are really great deal. I’m not in love with this particular colour because it is too bright for me personally. I plan on passes this along to someone else that I know will enjoy the colour. I have tried and hauled other items from colourpop that you can read here and here.

Bare Minerals Invisible light translucent powder Duo
Retail Price: $32.00 USD
Unboxing Boxycharm July 2017 (8)This is the one item that completely stole my heart when I open this box. It is a translucent powder that comes with both a matte and a glow side. The matte side will absorb oil and it’s a perfect setting makeup while the glow side adds luminosity and highlighting.
Unboxing Boxycharm July 2017 (9)I love that this Duo is together because I actually love to put highlighting type powders all over my face but also using translucent matte powders under my eye. I also love that they’re pressed powders and I can take them on the go.

Winky Lux unibrows Universal eyebrow pencil
Retail Price: $12.00 USD
Unboxing Boxycharm July 2017 (4)
This Universal shade almost feels a bit dark to be universal but I think it will work with my hair colour and I have thick brows. I use a little bit of pencil to fill in the gaps but I’m never really too concerned about matching my color exactly. I admire this packaging I love the gold hieroglyphics against the creamy white pencil. I love cute packaging! This will make it so easy to find in my makeup case.

Project Beauty spray. What. No. Makeup setting spray
Retail Price: $32.00 USD
Unboxing Boxycharm July 2017 (6)
I’m so happy that I received this in my box because if you saw my empties for June you would have noticed that I did finish up my sample size makeup setting spray from Urban Decay. The only downside with this guy is that the mister more like a jet stream so it’s not very easy to spray it all over my face. If I spray it far enough I might be able to still get away with it but I do like a fine mist so I might have to pour the product into a different spray bottle. I did spray some of this on my face just to see how it felt and it does feel very much like a Mac Fix Plus. I really like it!

Unboxing Boxycharm July 2017 (10)
My Thoughts
I am super happy with this box. I had planned on canceling my subscription after receiving this but I think I might just go for another 3 months because the items in this box were so good and I’m really looking forward to what they might have in store for the next few months. I wish I could pick out a few standout items but honestly they’re all stuff I am super excited to try except for maybe the colour-pop lippie which I’m completely fine with passing to someone else. Total value of my box: $127.00 USD or $160.00 CAD

Did you get Boxycharm this month? What item is a standout for you? What do you think of the items I got?

Lots of Love,
Dal

Summer Night Time Routine, 2017

In my previous posts I have written about my morning routine and my summer makeup routine and I wanted to include my night time routine now to round it all up!Summer Night Time Routine LBL (2)On most days I wear makeup so I will use micellar water and/or makeup wipes to remove it. I have been using Bioderma’s Sensibio H2O to remove my eye makeup. I did a review of Bioderma which you can see here. I then use a makeup wipe to remove makeup from the rest of my face and down my neck. I’ve been using the Sephora’s Rose Cleansing Wipes. These wipes are OK. The wipe itself can feel stiff and a bit irritating if I use it around my eyes, but for everywhere it works pretty well and I can feel it hydrating slightly after I use it. Once a week I will switch out the Sephora wipe with my Anthony Glycolic Exfoliating & Resurfacing Wipes.
Summer Night Time Routine LBL (6)These wipes have a rough texture so it would irritate my skin if I used it too often but I do love the wipes whenever I want to deep cleanse and exfoliate my skin.

Next, I wash my face with my MUJI Foam Face Wash for sensitive skin. I read a lot of rave reviews about this company from Stashmatters (she gives the best and most thorough reviews!) so when I passed by the store I had to go in and check it out! I absolutely love this cleanser!
Summer Night Time Routine LBL (3)It’s gentle so I can use this around my eyes and doesn’t feel harsh on my skin but it really helps remove any remaining residue and leaves my skin feel squeaky clean.

Another cleanser that I have used on and off over the last 6 weeks is the Peter Thompson Roth anti-aging cleansing gel. I bought this gel from Sephora when I bought the Peter Thomas Roth Skin Saver set and this particular cleanser had a lot of good reviews. After using it for some time I think it’s only OK. It does not remove my makeup at all and unlike the MUJI wash, this one does irritate around my eyes. It’s fine for the days I don’t wear makeup or in the morning instead. I’m only including it here because I wanted to share my thoughts because since I have been testing it out. It claims to be anti-aging and brightens the skin with glycolic, citric and salicylic acid. I will use this product until it finishes but I don’t think I would repurchase it.
Summer Night Time Routine LBL (5)After cleansing I like to use the Peter Thomas Roth Retinol Fusion p.m. oil since purchasing this from Sephora 6 weeks ago (see the haul here). This has 1.5% retinol and vitamin C and E and is designed for all skin types. I’m very impressed with this. I’ve been using it for about four weeks and I’ve actually noticed a difference in my skin. For instance, I do have one wrinkle that is pretty deep above my eyebrow and after placing a drop over it for the last few weeks it has definitely been less visible! I apply one drop on my forehead, around my eyes, and my laugh lines then massage it in with my fingers. I also love the way this dropper is designed. It is curved which makes it easy to drop the product directly onto my skin.
Summer Night Time Routine LBL (4)The last step in my routine is to apply a night cream and I’ve been using the Estee Lauder Nutritious Night Vita-Mineral Intense Nourishing Creme/Mask. This is also designed for all skin types and it’s a very thick cream. I love Estee Lauder skin care and this feels really nice on the skin. I notice in the morning I’m a lot more hydrated since I’ve started using this.

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been using this series of products consistently and I feel like my skin is looking and feeling better.

There you have! This is everything I do at night. If you wanted to see my morning routine click here or if you want to see my summer makeup routine click here.

Let me know what is part of your night time routine. What steps do you take?

Lots of love,
Dal

Bye Bye Empties, June 2017

Summer is finally here! I have some travel plans in the next coming months so I’m excited to share posts different from beauty ones soon!

I feel like I did pretty well for June empties. I finished up a good number of products I’ve been wanting to finish.

Skincare Bye Bye Empties June 2017 (6)

I finally finished up my Caudalie Polyphenol Anti Wrinkle Fluid, if you recall in my review I wasn’t the biggest fan of this product because I really didn’t see any difference using it. You might probably guess that I won’t repurchase this. I also used up my Body Shop’s Nutriganics Refreshing Toner. For me this was OK, it felt filmy towards the end. I personally like toners that feel like they deep clean so I won’t be repurchasing this one. Lastly, I used up my Bella Aura Gentle Purifying Cleanser. This was a sample that I received in my January 2017 Topbox. This cleanser is great! It feels really creamy and lathers up nicely. The sample lasted maybe 8 washes but I was being very conservative using only a pea size at a time. Another plus for me is that it removes my makeup without irritating my eyes. I would definitely purchase I full size of this it’s just pretty pricey. I would also be interested in trying more from Bella Aura.

Hair & Body
Bye Bye Empties June 2017 (2)

I finished up my Dove Nourishing Oil Care Conditioner. I enjoy this line because it’s perfect for my dry hair. It helps tame frizz and works great with whatever oil or creams I use afterwards to style. I am picking up this again soon! Another item I finished up is Yves Rocher’s Jardins du Monde Soft Shower Cream in Cotton Flower from India. I have 5 back-ups of these body washes (yes, I counted them) I love so many of these scents and for me I can’t go without them! I like to use them as both body wash and as bubble bath! This scent is one of my favourites, it’s sweet and clean.

Makeup
Bye Bye Empties June 2017 (4)

Some of my makeup items are actually empty and some are just products I think are old and need to be discarded. I’ll start with actual empties. When Joe Fresh first released their line at Shoppers Drug Mart I wanted to try it and started with the illuminating concealer.  I wasn’t the biggest fan of this at first because it’s not full coverage but with a change in foundation I found that this looked nice under my eyes adding a light highlight and woken up look. It looks the best with my Maybelline Fit Me foundation. I wish I took a picture of the applicator because I think it’s a really great design. It was long and flat and the angle was great to apply the concealer directly onto my face. I will likely repurchase this.

I also finished my sample of Urban Decay’s All Nighter Setting Spray. I really like this to set my makeup because it helped to blend in any powders and help keep my makeup in place. I will be purchasing the larger size.

This next item in my empties isn’t exactly an empty but an oldie! I’ve had my Too Faced Melted Metal in Melted Candy for way too long and I just wasn’t wearing it. The colour is too bright for everyday and I’m not into super bright lipsticks so this expired before it actually emptied.

The last item is also an oldie which is the Ruby Cosmetics Eyebrow powder. I did a whole review on this product when I first got it here. I pretty much summed it up in my final thoughts about the product, it’s not bad but there are so many brow products on the market I would probably move on to something new. That’s what I ended up doing. I just stopped using this and thought it might be best I just throw it out.

What items have you finished up this month?

Lots of Love,
Dal

Easy Summer Makeup Routine

I keep my makeup pretty simple because I just can’t seem to wake up early enough to complete a full-face look before I head out the door! I thought I’d share my makeup application for the summer because it only takes me about 15 minutes to put together so it’s great if you are in a rush.

First things first is my morning face routine, if you missed that post you can read it here.

Summer Makeup Routine 2017 (7)To start, I’ve been forgoing foundation and sticking to tinted moisturizers or BB creams. My current fave is Garnier’s Ombrelle tinted SPF which I’ve mentioned in my morning routine. After BB cream I’ll use concealer to add coverage to the areas under my eyes and around my nose. I have been using my Nars Radiant Concealer because it gives good coverage without being heavy and blends easily into my skin. I do about 3 dots under my eyes, a little line down the bridge of my nose to highlight, and then on the sides of my nose to cover redness I get around there.

Summer Makeup Routine 2017 (5)I’ll do a quick eye look using only two shadows from one of my Smashbox Covershot palettes (review coming very soon).

Summer Makeup Routine 2017 (6)I have been loving Ablaze for summer. I put Throwback in the crease and Moccasin over the lid and blend it together.

I don’t always wear liner because it takes the most of my time, but when I have an extra five minutes I will do a winged liner using Kat Von D’s Mad Max Brown Liner. I never skip mascara and right now Sephora’s Full action Mascara in brown is great at separating my lashes and making them appear thicker.Summer Makeup Routine 2017 (9) I have pretty full brows but for extra impact I’ll add Benefit’s Goof Proof Brow Pencil. It really is goof proof for me because it’s a thicker angled pencil that I can quickly swipe in-between the hairs in my brow to give it a soft definition.

Summer Makeup Routine 2017 (14)After, I take a fluffy brush and put Physician’s Formula #InstaReady Bronzer all over the perimeter of my face. I love that this bronzer is light and buildable. It’s surprisingly smooth and never looks patchy.  This is more cool toned which works great for my skin tone and leaves me with a more natural look.

Summer Makeup Routine 2017 (13)I like keeping my look bronze so I’ve been wearing Sephora’s blush in Apricot sheen. I recently bought this because it was on sale and I’m so happy I did! It is a nice peachy-bronze with gold reflex that isn’t in your face but adds a bit of sheen and highlights my cheeks. This is also a light blush so I can build it up or keep sheer.

Summer Makeup Routine 2017 (10)Last is lip balm. I have two that I love equally and keep in my bag. One is Bite Beauty’s amazing Agave Balm. It smells great and feels super comfortable on the lips. It has no colour but gives shine to my natural lip. The other is Fresh Sugar Balm sample in Rose which has a light red tint. I like this as a pick-me-up if I’m going out after work. It also has SPF 15 adding a bit more protection for my lips.

Although I’ve listed out quite a few products they don’t require too much work to apply so I never take long to put them on.

What’s a summer look you love wearing?

Lots of Love,
Dal

Unboxing Boxycharm, June 2017

Price: $21.00 USD (+$5.00 shipping to Canada) Number of items: 4-5 full-size items.
Boxycharm is a monthly subscription box of full-size makeup, skincare and beauty tools. This month’s theme is Downtown Charm.

**Prices are in USD, and converted to CAD at the end**

A little update; since the Canadian Dollar is always changing against the US Dollar, last month, this month and next month were a bit more expensive when converted to CAD: $34.00/month (compared to $33.00 CAD when I first subscribed in February). Although I love the items, it is a pricey subscription. If you have suggestions for other boxes that ship to Canada (or are Canadian owned boxes) let me know. Also, my Ipsy subscription ended and I don’t plan to renew it anytime soon so if you don’t see any unboxing for that, well now you know why.

So what did I get this month?!

RealHer Eye Shadow Palette I (Nude)
Retail Price: $28.00 USD
Unboxing Boxycharm June 2017 (9)
Last time I got RealHer products in my box I was really excited mostly because I love what this brand stands for. If you want to see the items and my thoughts, you can do that here. I was pleasantly surprised to see an eye shadow palette in my subscription box.
Unboxing Boxycharm June 2017 (8)The box is thick but it is small enough that you can travel with. I love the rubbery texture of the packaging and silver lettering against the black and that it has a mirror inside. The ingredients are certified cruelty free, natural and vegan.
Unboxing Boxycharm June 2017 (10)
The colours are completely the types that I would wear everyday. I love the mix of mattes and shimmers and for the most part they are really smooth and blend well. The only downside is that some shades are very similar (Proud & Courageous and Creative & Unique). Either way, it’s a palette I’m super happy to receive. Palette II and III can be found here. All are great everyday palettes with slightly different variation in colours.

Biobelle Cosmetics 3 Sheet Masks
Retail Price: $14.97 USD
Unboxing Boxycharm June 2017 (11)
Hurray for more sheet masks! I’m excited that I got 3 in this month’s box! I got #beautysecret which a moisturizing mask (pomegranate & hyaluronic acid), #iwokeuplikethis which enhances glow (wild rose & vitamin C) and #primer to prep the skin before makeup (tee tree oil, rosehip extract & vitamin C). These are all really cute masks although I’m pretty curious about #primer only because I’ve never tried anything like it.

Artist Couture Diamond Glow Powder
Retail Price: $26.99 USD, full size
Unboxing Boxycharm June 2017 (5)This powder has glow and lots of sparkle! Not sure how much I’d like it on my cheeks for highlight but it might work all over the lids or even on the body. Unboxing Boxycharm June 2017 (7)I love that it’s a gold shimmer only because I have very little of that in my collection. You need the tiniest bit to make an impact.
Unboxing Boxycharm June 2017 (6)In the swatch (which is hardly visible thanks to terrible lighting!) I used only a crumb of product. I love the way this is packaged with a sifter that can be closed completely by turning it so that you don’t get powder flying everywhere!

Ofra Cosmetics Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Santa Ana
Retail Price: $19.90 USD
Unboxing Boxycharm June 2017 (2)

This is a beautiful raspberry, red colour that isn’t very bright so I can imagine it being perfect for someone like me who isn’t into lipsticks that fall outside of the natural look. I haven’t tested it out but the formula is supposed to be soft and moisturizing on the lips and has a long lasting lipstick effect. I’ve tried other lip products from Ofra that I really liked so I’m guessing I will enjoy this lipstick too!

Luxie Brush Rose Gold Pro Precision Tapered Brush 640
Retail Price: $24.00 USD
Unboxing Boxycharm June 2017 (3)

Yes! Finally a Luxie Brush in my subscription box! This is a pretty interesting brush. The bristles are very long and flimsy. It can be used to dust away loose powder from eye shadow fallout or apply highlight.
Unboxing Boxycharm June 2017 (4)In the summer I will add a bit of powder on top of my makeup to keep it all in place so it doesn’t melt in the heat and I would actually just use it for that. I love the pink handle and rose gold barrel it really makes the brush feel luxurious but it also is very sturdy and well made.

My Thoughts
All these items are going to get used by me and feel like they fall in line with the Downtown Charm feel (I’m a downtown city girl and it feels like colours I would wear). The palette is so pretty and I can easily put a few looks together with this, the lipstick will add a fun pop of colour and the gold powder will give a bit of glow. I’m really excited for masks and the brush too! Total Value of my box: $113.86 USD ($150.52 CAD)!

Did you get Boxycharm this month? What did you think of the items?

Lots of Love,
Dal

Unboxing Topbox, June 2017

Topbox is a Canadian monthly beauty subscription service. Each month you have the option of getting a surprise box or to swap it for a prive box where all the products are from one brand and you know what they are. This month I opted for the Prive Box.

Topbox was offering three different Cosmetics Magazine Awards Privé Topbox’s, I wished for #3 and got it in the mail! I wish I had taken a screen shot of all the different options because they were really good this month. If you’re interested in reading Cosmetic Magazine Fragrance and Beauty Awards you can here.

Now on to what I got!

I’m not the biggest fan of the original euphoria scent, but I love the sexy musk in the deep euphoria. I usually prefer light clean scents but there is something about this that makes me love it. I’m not good at describing scents but here are the notes for this one:

  • Top – Cascalone
  • Mid – Black magic rose
  • Base – Musk

This is a great scent for a hot summer night out when you might want a something a bit stronger to last you.

Michel Germain Sexual Paris Tendre Pour Homme
Full Size: $79.00 (75 mL), Sample Size: $8.43 (8 mL)Unboxing_Topbox_June 2017_LBL (4)
I appreciate that Topbox included a sample for men in the Prive options, they actually had one exclusively for men which is a great little gift for a significant other or to use in a Father’s Day gift. I do like this scent a lot and thought I could pass this along. It’s in a cool looking spray bottle. Here are some of the notes of this one;

  • Top – Ginger
  • Mid – French Rose
  • Base – Modern Amber

You really get the hint of ginger in this one. I really think it’s a very fun sporty scent that is great for the summer.

Anytime this is in a box I get really excited. Yes, I may have so many of these samples now but it’s probably my most loved serum so I will constantly appreciate more little samples because the full size is expensive.

Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil In O2 Raspberry
Full Size: $25.00 (7 mL), $10.00 (2.8 mL)

I’ve heard so many good things about this lip oil so when I saw it was part of this Prive I knew I wanted to give it a try. This is described on the Bay website as a melting, lip-plumping formula which combines the comfort of an oil and the high-shine result of a gloss for radiant, fuller-looking lips.

My Thoughts

Clearly, I’m really happy that I received this Prive Box. I’m really excited to try the lip oil and already loving the parfum. I’ll always appreciate the ability to chose my box with Topbox, it’s a feature not many other subscription boxes offer. Total value of my box; $59.83.

Did you get Topbox this month? What was in your bag?

Lots of Love,
Dal
