Unboxing: Topbox, February 2016

Topbox is a Canadian monthly subscription service that introduces customers to beauty items. Each month you have the option of getting a surprise box or to swap it for a prive box in which all the products are from one brand and you know what they are. This month I opted for a surprise.

What I Received

1.Bliss Fabulous Drench ‘n’ Quench 

The packaging reads that this is a cream-to-water lock-in moisture that you massage onto your face morning and night for 30 seconds. I actually just ran out of some daily moisturizer so this will hold me over until I purchase a new one. Anyone know of a good moisturizer I might look into?

 

2.Morgan Taylor Professional Nail Lacquer in Later Alligator 

I’ve never heard or seen this brand of nail lacquer before but I’m so in love with this colour. I love green and this is on a seafoam tint. I also love the name of the polish, later alligator is very appropriate and cute for this colour. I did a little reading on their website. The company creates lacquers that finely milled pure pigments which are saturated in colour. The line is inspired by pearls, raw gems and semi-precious stones. I will test this out the next time I need to change my nail colour and see how well it lasts and how nice it looks on.

3. Nova Scotia Fisherman Extreme Skin Care, Sea Salt Soap

I actually really like using bar soaps so I was happy to get this. It has ingredients, like organic shea butter, to nourish your skin. I love the smell of this soap so much!!! It’s very strong but just so delicious, like a butterscotch! I usually like to put soap bars in between my clothes to keep them smelling good.

 

4.Smashbox Photo Finish Classic Primer

I get this sample quite often in monthly boxes and I love receiving it. This is such a great primer for ensuring the makeup glides on perfectly and my skin always looks flawless after I use it.

 

5.BONUS! Modelco Power Lash Mascara

Topbox was offering a bonus surprise item for $10 that you could add to your bag. Sometimes I don’t go for it, but I have received some really great full size products in the past so I thought I’d get it this time. AND it’s my bday month so I added an extra little treat for myself 🙂 I got a full size of the modelco mascara which I wasn’t the most excited about at first, but after realizing all I have currently are sample size mascaras was happy that I received it. This is a nice black colour and the applicator wand looks like it will built a lot of volume.

 

My Thoughts

I really liked this bag because I received items I don’t always get, such as the soap bar and ones I can’t get enough of, like the Smashbox primer. Everything is meant to be hydrating which is a good thing for this month. Total value of my items $59.48.
