After my review of Algenist Purifying & Replenishing Cleanser, I thought I’d share a review of a product that I like using at a lower price point. I’ve been using Nutriganics Foaming Facial Wash for over a year now and no matter what new cleanser I try I still like coming back to this one.
What it Claims:
- Gently washes away impurities as skin is softened, smoothed and revitalized.
Active Ingredients:
- Community Trade organic babassu oil from Brazil helps smoothes and revitalizes skin.
- Organic mallow flower from Switzerland and Community Trade organic sugar from Paraguay moisturize and soften skin.
- Essential oils and natural fragrances combine to create a gentle fragrance.
The Body Shop is well known as a fair trade, vegetarian and cruelty free brand. I’ve always loved what the stand for but had trouble finding products I liked. That was, however, until I was in the store looking for a new face wash. I described the things I was looking for to the associate there (good for dry, sensitive skin and helps reduce wrinkles) and she directed me to their line of Nutriganics, designed to nourish skin and fight wrinkles. I purchased the face wash and toner at the time and although the toner is OK, the cleanser has become a staple in my morning and evening regime.
Price: $15.00 for 150mL (5 oz). This is pretty decently priced in my opinion. One bottle will last me about 1 1/2 – 2 months with regular use. Also, they are always on sale, so I hold off for that (I got mine on the buy 3 get 3 sale)Packaging: I love the foaming pump on this bottle. It’s very practical design makes it easy for me to store in my drawers or on my vanity.
Performance: I use about 1 full pump if I am removing makeup but for most mornings I use only about 1/2 pump. I love the feeling of the soft bubbly foam. The formula is really gentle on the skin and amazing at cleansing. A good test for me is how well a cleanser can remove my waterproof mascara without me needing to use makeup remover afterwards and this does just that. I feel very comfortable rubbing this in my lash line and it doesn’t irritate me at all. There is a light, but barely there scent, it’s really natural and not overly perfumed. I don’t know that I’ve noticed any diminished fine lines but I like that it’s geared for the first signs of aging so the ingredients are targeted for my skin.
My Thoughts: For a daily cleanser, I really like using this. It works really well for my skin type.
Have you tried anything from the Body Shop that you enjoy using?
Lots of Luv,
Dal

I hate to break it to you but…. I believe TBS is discontinuing the Nutriganics line! The whole line is in their clearance sale for 50% right now. I’ll ask the SA to confirm if they’re indeed gonzo.

I didn’t get a chance to ask today but I’ll go tomorrow. The reason why I think it might be discontinued is because some of the the Nutriganics products were put on a separate table, along with the Moisture White Shiso and some Vitamin C, Vitamin E stuff that are discontinued. I’ll check specifically if this particular product is discontinued…

Too bad, I guess it means I’ll get to play with new cleansers soon! But first, I may stop by and grab a few bottles, lol!
