Oh clay and mud masks, how I adore them. I’ve tried another new one recently from Sephora. Even though I have dry skin and don’t suffer from many blemishes, I really love deep cleaning my skin every other week or so. With the humidity and hot weather lately, I love using masks more because my skin feels a bit more gross. Don’t get me wrong though, I love summer!
If you’re curious in any other mask reviews, see them here;
Coalion Premium Hot & Cold Pore Pack Duo
Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask
Price: $25.00 CAD. This is pricey but not the most I’ve spent on a mask.
What it claims to do:
- Cleanses and purifies pores
- Absorbs excess sebum (oily secretions)
- Reduces the appearance of blemishes without over drying
Active Ingredients:
- Zinc and Copper to purify
- White Clay to soften
The consistency is really thick and chunky, very mud like which is pretty fun. I used this for the first time all over my face. I kinda kicked myself because I don’t have impurities all over my face and I was afraid it would really dry out my skin. It has a really nice cooling affect which feels so good in the hot months. As this dries it goes white and crackles a bit. Surprisingly for me, even though this looked like it was going to over dry my skin it did not at all. It actually made my skin feel hydrated afterwards. I liked that this didn’t over dry my skin. Once the mask completely dried I washed it off. My skin felt really clean and super soft. I can’t say if it absorbed any excess oil but my pores appeared a bit smaller. I really like how my skin felt and looked after using this mask.
Any masks that you’ve been enjoying lately?
Lots of Love,
Dal

Oh! This reminds me of Glamglow Youth mud (which I adore). I’m currently loving the Valentia Skin Detoxifying Clay mask, very gentle on my skin.. And now I would love to try this Sephora Mud Mask too! 😊

I like Glamglow masks but they are really expensive!
The Valentia sounds really nice though.

I know right? I use them as a spot treatment instead.. Can’t afford to buy the full size (i mean I can, but not willing to spend that much haha). I really like the Valentia one.. Smells nice too!😊

Haha! I wait until I can get samples at sephora or in a beauty box!
I saw the Valentia on amazon – it sounds so good and if it smells good I’m all about it

I personally like the smell (it does have some tingles when first applied but I like how it feels, nothing scary) and yes! I’m all about samples.. Hahaha

I love clay masks that don’t suck all the moisture out of my skin! My top two are the Consonant one and the Sukin Purifying mask.

I am the same! I’ve tried a few masks that dry me out and it really is uncomfortable on my skin. Good to know that there are a lot out there that are really hydrating but also deep cleaning 🙂
BTW – the Consonant is already on my list after your post – I’m going to have to do a what Jodi suggests haul because I seriously get everything you recommend!

I’ve found that clay masks are perfect for my skin when it’s “that time of the time” – just before – it helps to combat all the bumpy skin I tend to experience. Currently I’m using the same as Jodi – the Consonant Skincare one is great for giving my skin a good purification.

With my dry skin I was always afraid that clay masks were going to dry me out- but so far they’ve all been great. I’m going to pick up the Consonant mask, it sounds really good.

I love masks! One I particularly like is the Caolion Premium Hot & Cool Pore Pack Duo. It’s actually two masks: a hot mask that opens pores and removes debris and a cool mask that tightens and minimizes pores.

Great post! I’ve been OBSESSED with masques lately, and this one is totally calling my name. I love when it dries it turns to a different colour so you know exactly when to take it off. My two favourite ones are Delia Organics’ Berry Buffing Masque and Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Masque!
