Price:

$47.00 CAD from Sephora

What it Claims:

Infused with skin-balancing Amazonian clay and chamomile, vitamins A, C, and E, and sodium hyaluronate, this multitasking, tinted moisturizer hydrates, brightens, treats, and protects skin from UV rays and free radical damage with SPF 20. (Sephora)

I love the added skin benefits in this product (which is what I love about BB Creams in general).fotor_147337897952238_resized

Packaging:

I really like this simple packaging. It’s just a squeeze tube for quick application. I also really like the cord cap, just a little something extra and cute.fotor_147337905918310_resizedApplication & Coverage:

I preferred applying this with my fingers as I would a moisturizer. The coverage is barely-there which you can build to light coverage. It was perfect for “no-makeup” days because it would even out my skin tone without making me look like I had anything on and I liked the added SPF.

At first, I worried that tint I got was a bit too dark but light-medium ended up being good for me especially since it blends in more sheer (plus with a tan in the summer it matched me well).

Although I like this for every day there are a few downsides to this tint and one is that there are specks of sparkle in the formula. I only notice this when I’m in direct sunlight or under really bright lights so for me I can get away with wearing this in the office or at home. However, I would definitely not wear this outside as I’m afraid the sparkles would be more noticeable which is a shame because the added SPF should make it perfect for outdoors. I think this was meant to give that “brightening” effect as the claim says but in the wrong way. The other thing I find is that my skin feels a bit more oily at first application, and I need to add a bit of powder to make it feel more matte. Since I have normal-dry skin in the summer and I feel like it’s bearable but I’m not sure how well it may work for someone with combination skin.fotor_147337913714990What I like:

  • Feels lightweight
  • Easy application
  • Sheer coverage
  • Built-in SPF

What I don’t like:

  • Feels a bit oily at first
  • Major disco vibes thanks to the sparkle (haha)

My thoughts

If you like BB Creams, this one is alright, but I have others that I much prefer. It’s a bit pricey and although I like all the added benefits of this formula, the sparkle and oily feeling get really annoying. I’ll use this product up, but I don’t think I will be repurchasing.

Have you tried Tarte’s Amazonian Clay BB Cream? What are your thoughts? Have any other BB Cream Favourites?

Lots of Love,

Dal
