I did some Boxing Day Shopping on the Tarte Cosmetics website because they were offering 30% off everything on their site. For those who may not know, in Canada, December 26th is our big shopping day where almost all stores host sales. I’m sure this sale was probably the same in all countries but they advertised it as Boxing Day for us. tarte-cosmetics_haul-9When I saw that they had the Shape Tape Concealer back in stock in my shade I figured it was the best time to try it! Below I’ll share what I received and first impressions on some items.

Let’s start with the concealer that pretty much took over the later half of 2016, the much-hyped Shape Tape.

tarte-cosmetics_haul-8I had been waiting anxiously for their lighter shades to come back into stock on the website for the last 3 months because unfortunately for me, I can’t pick this up in store. One down-side to purchasing this online was obviously trying to shade-match so I made a guess at my shade. I got light-neutral which ended up being a match for me (luckily). tarte-cosmetics_haul-7This concealer is alright. I don’t hate it, but I don’t exactly think it’s as fantastic as many people have been saying it is. I feel like this just sits on top of my makeup and actually accentuates the fine lines under my eyes. I’m sure if I’m wearing a full-face of makeup it would be nice, but I tend to be more light-handed with makeup for everyday so it didn’t really work with that.

The formula is creamy which is nice. I’ve seen claims that this completely covers any dark circles but I beg to differ. I didn’t notice any more coverage than my other concelears. Plus, I really think the large applicator deposits way too much product on to my face and doesn’t make applying the concealer any easier or better. This may all be because I have dry skin but it didn’t wow me like I wanted it to. I’ll do a full review once I’ve used this about halfway and see if maybe I grow to love it.

Next, I got the The Sheer Passion Maracuja Hydrating Cheek Tint.

tarte-cosmetics_haul-5Lately I’ve been loving liquid blush because I can apply it it quickly with my fingers and in in the winter months I’ve been avoiding adding extra powder to my face as to not look more dry. Plus this was on sale and I still got 30% on top of that so win-win. I like that this had some of their maracuja oil in it because I actually really love it as a face oil for hydrating.

tarte-cosmetics_haul-2First time I used this I went a bit over board because I really thought this would be sheer, however, it is pretty pigmented. The next time I used this I applied a light amount to my face and then blended it out to give just a wash of colour.

I also picked up the Tartiest Pro to Go palette. I love these two highlight colours.

tarte-cosmetics_haul-4One is this pretty pearl colour and the other has a hint of gold. Both are not crazy intense which look really nice on the tops of my cheeks. The contour colour is a bit warm for me but I can definitely use it as a bronzer colour or even as eye-shadow so I’m not too upset that it wasn’t cool.

tarte-cosmetics_haul-3 I like that this is in a nice small case (it’s only a tiny bit bigger than the size of a credit card), so it fits in my makeup case easily. I also love the rubber-like texture of this case and the gold lettering, it’s pretty chic.

Lastly, I purchased the Make a Splash Hydrating Skin Savers mini set.

tarte-cosmetics_haul-6 I actually own these in the large size but I couldn’t help picking up the mini set for travelling and because I thought it was really cute. This set is actually really great for anyone with dry skin because it is all meant to hydrate. I use these mostly for  washing my face in the morning because it’s very gentle and preps my skin for whatever make up I may want to put on. I love the hydrating cream and the facial mist (I love facial mists period).

Have you tried the Shape Tape? What about the Pro Glow to Go? How about the Blush or Make a Splash Face Set? Let me know what you think!

Lots of Luv,

Dal
