HAPPY 2018!!
I wish everyone a fantastic new year! I’m so excited for all that 2018 has to bring.
This is the first time I’m attempting a project pan challenge on the blog! I’ve been watching/reading so many project pan roundups at the end of 2017 that I was really interested in trying this for myself.
I’ve picked 18 items that I want to use up before the end of 2018. Some items I know will be difficult (blushes and highlighters) while others should be pretty easy.
A lot of the items get neglected in my collection while others are close to being empty and I just wanted to give myself an extra push to use them up before they go bad.
Here’s what I’d like to use up!
Face Items
Shiseido Synchro Skin Lasting Liquid Foundation. I love this foundation so it should be easy to use this up. See my review of it here.
This is 1/2 full.
CoverFX Custom Enhancer Drops in Moonlight (deluxe sample). I don’t use this too often because it’s so intense but I’m hoping to use up the sample.
This is full.
Tarte Cosmetics Amazonian Clay in Exposed (deluxe sample). This is a pretty nude highlight and I’ve used it a few times already but I wonder if I’d be able to put a dent in it.
This is full.
Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector. I don’t use this as much as I would like to and because it’s in a pot form I want to use it before it dries out.
This is 3/4 full.
Physician’s Formula Super BB #InstaReady Filter Bronzer. I got this at Gen Beauty 2 years ago. I like the way this looks on but we will see how much I can get through it.
This is full.
MAC Powder Blush in Fleur Power. I love the grapefruit pink colour of this blush. This is a blush I’ve had for a few years now and I wanted to try using it up.
This is full.
Bite Beauty Multi-Stick in Almond (deluxe size). I enjoy using this for my cheeks and lips. I’m going to see how long this little stick will last.
This is full.
Yves Rocher Youthful Glow Powder in 100 Teint tres Clair. I hardly used powders because my face is dry. I do like to use them a bit to set under my eyes. This has been kicking around my collection for way too long so this year I’m going to use as much as I can and then toss it out.
This is full.
Eye Items
Smashbox Cover Shot Eyeshadow in Golden Hour. Of the three cover shot palettes I own, I use this one the least. I wanted to give it a real shot this year and see if I can find ways to use it. See my review of the palette here.
This is full.
Marc Jacobs Black Liner (deluxe size). I really want to use up this liner. I like it but it’s not my favourite black liner.
This is 1/2 full.
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in 611 Yogurt. I like this pencil for every day so we will see how long it will last. See my review of them here.
This is 3/4 full.
Lip Items
I think lip items are the toughest for me to get through because I rarely wear them. I’m hopeing through this challenge I’ll start wearing them more often and finally use them up.
Teeez Cosmetics Material Girl Lipstick in Hyped Taupe. This is one of my favourite coloured lipsticks but I don’t wear it too often. I don’t want this to get old before I’ve had a chance to use it.
This is full.
Colourpop Lippie Pencil in Aquarius. This lip pencil is starting to fall apart on me. The lip liner itself falls out of the pencil all the time so I just wanted to use it up.
This is 3/4 full.
Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Melted Candy (deluxe size). I love this candy red colour and wear this quite a bit.
This is 1/2 full.
Too Cool for School Dinoplatz Lip Balm in Spilled Wine. I got this for my birthday two years ago and I enjoy how comfy this is on the lips and the deep red tint it leaves my lips. This should be really easy for me to use up.
This is 3/4 full.
Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick in 220 Powerful (deluxe size). I love Estee Lauder lipsticks. This pink will be my spring lipstick I just know it.
This is 1/2 full.
Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon in Glace. I received this in a voxbox from Influenster which you can read on here. I love the way this looks but I haven’t been wearing it much at all so I wanted to challenge myself to for 2018.
This is full.
Fresh Sugar Lip Polish (deluxe size). Since I’ll be wearing a lot of lip products this year (hopefully) I’ll want to treat my lips. I use this all the time anyways but I have a few lip scrubs that I should use up. I’m thinking this will be one of the earlier items to finish up in 2018. It’s an amazing scrub.
This is 3/4 full.
I’ll try doing an update every season to track my progress. I’m so excited to get this going!
Are you planning a project pan this year?
Lots of Love,
Dal
Happy New Year, Dal! 🙂
Good luck with your project pan! As you know, I’ve done multiple makeup panning stints. It was fun initially but after forcing myself to use the same thing over and over… it felt like prison! 😛
I think you’ll make a lot of head way with the foundation and base products… eye shadows and blush are nearly impossible to finish… Have fun!
You know, I’ve neglected my Becca under eye corrector lately too. I love that stuff.

Thanks so much for the encouragement, I think, haha!
I was hesitant about all those things you mention; getting bored of a product or not finishing up enough product but I figured it’ll be fun and provide new content for the blog. Plus, I’ll be easy on myself. If I don’t like or use any or all of the products, I won’t.
I wonder if this will help slow down my makeup spending habits…

Hehe, I’m jaded a little but yes, give yourself leeway to use whatever you want. It will definitely be a fun project!

I’m doing a project pan this year as well, so good luck to the both of us, haha! I think it will be tough to use up things like highlighter and blush – those types of products take forever to finish!

Yay us! Good luck on your project pan. I’ve always wanted to try it!
The highlighter, blush and eyeshadow palette will probably not be empty by the end but I’m curious if and when I ever hit pan.

For sure. Even if you don’t hit pan, at least you’ll get some good use out of those products this year!

Project pans are great challenges. Since doing my first one with Ingrid and Stashy, I’ve kind of been on a low buy / use it up challenge to try to spend less / waste less and use of more of my stash.

That’s a great way to be. I just need to make a dent in some of my collection. I’m always buying more stuff and not using it all.
I wonder if next year I’ll be convinced to do a low buy challenge!

Happy New Year! Best of luck with the project. I’ve decided to do a project pan but just focusing on categories rather than specific products as I just get bored of using one thing so quickly. Can’t wait to see your updates and the final progress at the end of 2018.

Wow this is such a good idea! I have so many products that are somewhat neglected, I feel like I should definitely do this too to make room for new products instead of shoving them to the back of my makeup drawer. Best of luck with your project and 2018 as a whole x

Thanks a lot! It’s worth a shot if you have a lot of products you’re not using. I find I always buy more without using up what I have.

I should totally do this lol. Sense of accomplishment once you have hit pan! 😂 x

I may join and do a little blog post too. 😃
Maybe you could review the product after you used it all and decide if you would buy again? X

Of course you should do one! Send me the link so I can give it a read. 😀
The review suggestion is great! I’ll do that for sure 😊

I have the deluxe sample of CoverFX Custom Enhancer Drops and I’m almost out of it. I love it a lot and Im sure you will hit the pan in no time. The Marc Jacobs liner is pretty good too, its very buttery that its not hard to finish up.. I cannot wait to see the pansss before the end of 2018. Good Luck!

Thank you! I’ve been using the coverfx highlighter on my eyes. It looks so pretty as an all over lid colour. I’m excited to see a lot of this get empty.

I do the same, love the feel when you blend them in. Good luck again! 😍
