The first three months of the year are done and I’m ready to share an update on my Project Pan! I’ve been trying to use all the items as often as I can and I’ve found that it makes getting ready in the morning before work a lot easier. I keep all the items for the project pan in one makeup bag and that bag has become my go-to for putting together quick looks when I really don’t want to fuss with digging through my makeup collection.
I will break down the items that have had the heaviest usage to the lowest. Not everything is brand new so if you want to know what I am working with take a read of my original post here.
Most Used Items (5-7 days a week)
These items were ones that I either enjoyed before the project pan or they are items I need to complete a makeup look so they get the most usage.
Physicians Formula Super BB Cream. I have not hit pan but the product has gone down and the imprint that was originally stamped on has faded.
Was full, now 3/4 full
Smashbox Covershot in Golden Hour. I’ve been taking a lot of the colours and doing one or two colour sweeps over the eye for my everyday look. Pans that get the heaviest use are the three lightest shimmer shades in the palette.
Was full, now 3/4 full
Yves Rocher Youthful Glow Powder in 100 Teint tres Clair. I used this powder every single time I used the Becca under eye brightening corrector to help prevent creasing and because that product is super sticky. Although I use it a lot I’ve only been able to get as far has to remove the company logo imprinted on the product.
Was full, now full but the print is gone!
Shiseido Synchro Skin Lasting Liquid Foundation. I can feel this is getting empty! I hope that by the summer update, this will be done!
Was 1/2 full, now 1/4 full
Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector. I use this every day but because I don’t need a lot it hasn’t really changed much. I’m finding that I don’t like this sticky formula so I know that after I’m completed the Project Pan I’m just going to toss this and never repurchase.
Was 3/4 full, now 2/3 full
Too Cool for School Dinoplatz Lip Balm in Spilled Wine. Another product I try to use often. I love this colour and formula so I tend to keep it in my purse for touch ups throughout the day.
Was 3/4 full, now 2/3 full
MAC Powder Blush in Fleur Power. I can kind of see this look like it’s getting some good use. The more I use this the more I fall in love with the colour and appreciate the formula. It looks so good on!
Was full, now 7/8 full
Medium Use Items (2-4 days a week)
These items were incorporated into my makeup routine as often as I could. Sometimes I would use them in place of the other items above.
Tarte Cosmetics Amazonian Clay in Exposed (deluxe sample) As much as I tried to use it I don’t see a difference in the pan. I don’t wear highlighter every day so this didn’t get used too much.
Was full, now full
Fresh Sugar Lip Polish (deluxe size) I used this whenever I was about to wear lipstick which isn’t often so this was barely used.
Was 3/4 full, now 2/3 full
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in 611 Yogurt. I have started sharpening this to use up more product. Whenever I wasn’t wearing the Smashbox Covershot palette I would try to use this but I find that it creases really bad on me so I know I’m not repurchasing this after the Project Pan is over.
Was 3/4 full, now 3/4 full
Marc Jacobs Black Liner (deluxe size). I’m using this whenever I don’t do liquid eyeliner. I really don’t love this liner.
Was 1/2 full, now 1/3 full
Bite Beauty Multi-Stick in Almond (deluxe size) I use this for my lips and cheeks. It’s a really nice item.
Was full, now 3/4 full
Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick in 220 Powerful (deluxe size). Probably the only lipstick in my Project pan that I wear most often. The colour really compliments the makeup looks I have been coming up with.
Was 1/2 full, now 1/2 full
Least Used Items (0-1 days a week)
These items have been the hardest for me to incorporate into my routine on a weekly basis. I might use these a few times a month.
CoverFX Custom Enhancer Drops in Moonlight (deluxe sample) I used this maybe 4 times. It’s super intense. I’m going to try to start adding it to my foundation for a dewy look.
Was full, now 7/8 full
Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon in Glace. I used this maybe twice. It’s a bit too cool for me but I’m trying to make it work with certain makeup looks or with a gloss on top because it’s very matte.
Was full, now full
Colourpop Lippie Pencil in Aquarius. I do wear this under certain lipsticks and I like the formula, I just don’t wear enough lipstick.
Was 3/4 full, now 2/3 full
Teeez Cosmetics Material Girl Lipstick in Hyped Taupe. I love, love this colour. It’s my second most used lipstick but again I don’t wear them often enough.
Was full, now 7/8 full
Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Melted Candy (deluxe size) I never wore this and I think it’s old.
Was 1/2 full, now 1/2 full
Thoughts
Clearly, I’m not a lipstick person. Most of my lippies are in the Least Used category. Part of why I wanted to do this Project Pan was to use them more so that’s my challenge for the next three months. Everything else I’m happy with my progress.
Are you doing a Project Pan? What is your progress been so far?
Lots of Love,
Dal
Powders are the hardest to see a visible difference in using them up. They take FOREVER!
I’m not doing an official project pan, I’m just trying to only buy things as I use up items in my stash.

Yes! My powders are hard to use up. If I can get at least one to hit pan I think I’d call it a success.
I’ve started just using up what I have too. I’m not even tempted to order anything from the Sephora VIP sale. That’s huge for me!

I get excited when I see that I’ve worn off powder imprint / logo… visible signs of progress! 😛
Haha re: Tarte in Exposed… “was full, now full” – highlighters are impossible to make a dent in!
Hmm your post reminds me that I picked up a couple of mini Bite Beauty Multi-Stick – need to find them and use them!
Funny, I just pulled out my deluxe sample of the CoverFX Custom Enhancer Drops in Moonlight over the weekend and mixed a drop with my bb cream. It gave a nice subtle glow! I really can’t wear it alone as highlight… I look like Tin Man!
Looks like you’re making great progress, keep it up! 😀

I’m pretty happy with my progress so far! But I have to work at it! Funny enough, before I started blogging I used to try to hold on to items as long as I could and use them so little, now I work equally as hard to use them up. Wearing off the imprint is super exciting to me!
What shades did you have in the multi-stick? I really like it. The formula is a bit dry so it’s not the best for lips but with balm underneath I get it to work. I want to get more of them.
I’ll definitely start putting it into my foundation. I have a full size one too. So much product! I wish they would sell ones that are half the size.

I’ve definitely found the face/base products easiest to reach for. With lip colours I like to wear a different one each day but I am learning to be more restricting.

I don’t wear lipstick at all normally so I really need to push myself to put it on. Funny because I always seem to pick up a new one so my lipstick collection is pretty big! Haha
Base products is so easy to use up, fingers crossed I can finish some up for the next update!!

Do you prefer balms to lipstick? Looking forward to see if you finish products next time 🙂

I definitely love balms, and sheer lipsticks. That’s why the Too Cool For School balm is getting a good amount of usage. Maybe I should just wear one everyday and I’ll get used to it.

Glad to have found another canadian beauty blogger on wordpress. These project pans are always so interesting to read about. They are always so different.

Glad you found me too! You’re so right. Everyone does it slightly different but it’s so fun having products to really want to empty

I think you made really nice progress on a lot of your products! Powder products are hard to see progress on, but it is so satisfying to hit pan on them!
I wear lip products every day and even for me it’s hard to use up a lipstick, but that might also be because I want to wear a different one every day;)
In my project that I just finished I only used up a face powder, but the project was only three months long.

Thank you! I’m making pretty good progress on the foundation for sure. Every week I think the powders are getting more and more empty, every little bit counts right!
I don’t wear lip products as often but I’m really trying hard to incorporate them into my routine. I find it always wears off too quickly on me! How do you get your lipstick to last?

Creamy lipsticks don’t last very long on me either, matte ones generally do. But when you’re trying to use one up I don’t find that to be a bad thing, because having to reapply just means you go through it faster. I just forget to reapply because I’m busy.

That’s exactly my issue! I always forget to reapply!

Great update! Panning is so much fun! 😀 I really like mixing my cover fx in my foundation. I think if you like that finish as well it will be much easier. I use it so sparingly myself if I wear it as a highlighter I would spend decades finishing it 🤭

I’ve actually started mixing it in my foundation, I have to be careful because too much makes my face look sparkly. But I am finding I’m reaching for it more I’d I do mix it in my foundation. Its fun seeing everything lessen in the pan! Thanks for reading ♥️
