I have so many items that I’ve been using and it’s about time I started doing reviews for them! I was at an Estee Lauder event when I received this product. I have been using it for weeks now and wanted to share my thoughts.
What It Is
A fluid, long-wear makeup with SPF 30 and antioxidants that feels like you have nothing on. This product is oil-free and oil-controlling. It is ophthalmologist and dermatologist tested, non-acnegenic, and fragrance-free. (Sephora.ca)
$50.00 CAD (1 oz) Estee Lauder is always on the pricier side of makeup but when I compare this foundation to others I have it’s pretty typical for beauty store pricing.
At the event, I was shade matched to 1N2 Ecru and this is probably my best matching foundation. I recently learned from my makeup artist friend that I’m neutral but lean warm, I always thought I was cooler since I see a lot of pink in my skin but now I’m much better at picking foundation for myself. For me, this just looks like my skin!
There are only nine shades in this range so many people won’t be able to wear this foundation since the range is on the fair to medium side.
Let’s start off with my biggest issue with this product, there is no pump. I think for the cost, the company could have put one on there. Whenever I use this I have to pour it out and a lot of the time foundation drips onto the side of the bottle which is messy and super wasteful.
I like the frosted glass bottle which gives it a nice weight in the hands. I just have to be careful I never drop this as I’m sure it would shatter.
Application & Wear
The formula is very fluid which is wonderful for applying an even, thin layer and then building it up. On me, it does feel a bit drying and can accentuate my dry skin so I make sure to really exfoliate and hydrate before I apply this. It’s mostly good for a light makeup day and I’m not sure I would try to build it up to full coverage.
It does wear super well on me. I’ve worn it all day and find that my skin tone looks very even throughout the day.
Overall, I like this foundation. I would totally want there to be more shades and a pump. It’s nice for every day. It’s just not my favourite foundation and would totally recommend you get a sample to try before deciding if it’s good for you.
Have you tried this foundation from Estee Lauder? What’s your favourite foundation?
Lots of Love,
