For my birthday this year I decided it would be nice to pick up a few items to celebrate and treat myself. There has been some skincare and makeup items on my list so I thought it was perfect timing to try them. Usually in the winter I tend to use a lot more moisturizing skincare so that was partly why I decided to put in an order.

Here’s what I got;

The Inkey List

I’ve been very curious about trying this brand so I decided I would pick up a few items. I purchased that Oat Cleansing Balm, Glycolic Acid Toner, Retinol Serum and Q10 Serum. I’ve heard how Inkey list is very similar to The Ordinary in that they are ingredient focused at affordable prices. I’m definitely going to test out the products and share a review on the blog.

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate

Whenever I think of a great brand to gift to others I always shop at Kiehl’s. I love their packaging and how you can pick up products that are specific to your skincare needs or just general skincare goodness. I’ve had my eye on this serum for so long and I decided I would just pick this up because it was my bday! lol! This reduces the visibility of fine lines, improves skin’s texture and boosts radiance overnight. This my not be everyone’s cup of tea since it does have lavender and primrose essential oils. However, I don’t have issues with essential oils and I’m looking forward to testing this out and seeing how it works.

Foundations I Picked Up;

Make Up For Ever Reboot Foundation

My sister actually turned me onto this foundation. She had purchased it a while ago and absolutely loved it. It looked so good on her skin that I decided I would give it a try as well. Her and I have similar skin texture so I thought if it worked for her it might for me too. This is a light-to-medium coverage foundation that has some skincare ingredients designed for normal to dry skin. It has ginseng to promote collagen production and Camellia Japonica to help restore the skin’s natural glow. I tried this the other day and loved the finish it left on my skin. It looked very natural and non-drying.

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Finish

While I picked up a light foundation I wanted something a little lighter than that. I figured since there was a mini size of this I could get it to try it out. I enjoy tinted moisturizers, primers, and bb creams. Anything that just offers a little coverage but still let’s my natural skin shine through.

Sephora Lip Liner

I’m not naturally a lip person but I have been wearing lip liner with a little gloss or lip balm every once in a while and I do enjoy it because it lasts longer on my lips. I do wear a little lip liner if I’m doing a zoom call or meeting only because it helps feel more confident in front of a camera.

Sample Products

I picked up a few additional items using my Sephora points and the free samples with purchase that you can get at checkout. They Included The Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Extra Strength daily peel. This is three treatments that is a two-step peel to smooth fine lines, minimize the appearance of pores and improve texture. I also picked up the Make Up Forever Matte Velvet Skin because I figured I would try it since it was available. I’ve never heard Of Kosas before but I saw that you could pick up this sample size mascara so I figured I would try it.

Sephora Birthday VIB Birthday Gift

This year Sephora offered four birthday gift options that include; This Keratase Shampoo and Conditioner which I picked up, Nars Lipstick and Blush combo, Laniege Skincare, and Moroccan Oil Haircare set. I decided on the Shampoo and Conditioner duo only because I knew I would use it over skincare or makeup that was being offered this year. This is actually a decent travel size set so I’ll have the opportunity to really try out the products over a few washes to determine if it will work for me.

Here is what I picked up for my birthday. I look forward to trying all these products and sharing my thoughts here. Have you tried any of the products I’ve listed above? I’d love to know your thoughts!

Lots of Love,
Dal
