You may have seen my Quick Day Time Routine a few weeks ago on the blog (if you missed it, you can catch up on the products I use here.) Today I’m sharing the products I use in my evening routine. The evening is where I like to take my time and pamper my skin as I prep for the rest of the night. While my morning routine is quick so I can get to the rest of my day, my evening routine is slow and relaxing.

Cleansing & Toning: Indeed Exfoliator II and L’Oreal Hydra Tone 5

In the evening I like a deeper cleanser to remove any makeup, residue and any sweat and oil that have accumulated throughout the day. I don’t want my cleanser to strip my skin so I really love Indeed’s Exfoliator II Cleanser. This is a powder cleanser that lathers into a smooth foam when mixed with water. It’s very gentle on the skin. You can read my review of this product here. My face will feel clear after using this, but I don’t feel like it strips my skin.

I then like to apply toner to help ensure that I didn’t miss anything after cleansing and L’Oréal’s Hydra Tone 5 is perfect for that. I apply this using one of my reusable pads (reviewed here) and what I enjoy most is that it leaves my skin feeling clear and when I use a pad I can make sure I get my neck, the back of my ears, around my hairline and everywhere that I might have skipped over with a cleanser. It’s important that a toner doesn’t overly dry my skin and this one actually leaves it feeling good!

Serums: The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% + HA, Deciem’s Sub Q Hylamide Serum, and Belif Youth Creator Serum

I usually rotate between these serums, using one or two at a time in my evening routine. I love incorporating serums to help boost the effectiveness of my moisturizer.

I tend to use the Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% when I’m looking to exfoliate my skin to help it look refreshed. The Sub Q Hylamide Serum is supposed to reduce the appearance of fine lines and provides hydration so I use this one pretty much every evening. It has collagen, hyaluronic acid and retinal-like ingredients. The Belif Youth Creator Serum is a creamy serum to help to reduce the appearance of pores and improve elasticity. As I get older it’s really important that I focus on products that will help keep it looking and feeling youthful for as long as I can so ingredients that help to prevent wrinkles or target fine lines or ones that help to improve elasticity and keep my skin plump are what I gravitate towards.

Moisturizer: Murad Resurgence Rapid Collagen Infusion and Ole Henriksen Goodnight Glow Retin-ALT sleeping cream

Last in my step is to add Murad Collagen and Ole Henriksen Sleeping Cream. Most of the time I use these products together, but every other night or so I do skip the Ole Henriksen since it has retinal and other acids so I want to give my skin a rest. I love using collagen and retinal at night to plump my skin and help reduce the appearance of fine lines. Murad’s Resurgence Rapid Collagen has collagen amino acids to plump and smooth fine lines as well as winged kelp extract that has omega 3, 6 and 9 to help improve hydration. It’s a light textured cream that smooths really well over my skin. It mixes well with my other creams.

The Ole Henriksen Goodnight Glow Retin-ALT sleeping cream has Bakuchiol which is a plant-based retinol derived from the Ayurvedic babchi plant and Edelweiss stem cell to promote firmness, it also has glycolic and lactic acid so even on days when I’m not using the Ordinary Lactic Acid I’m still getting some in this formula. This is very smooth and creamy and has a sweet purple colour.

Since I add different acids in my night routine I ensure that I wear a good sunscreen everyday to help protect my skin.

What are some products or ingredients you like to use in your nighttime routine?

Lots of Love,

Dal
