If you’ve seen any posts about hair care on my blog you’ll know that I have really dry hair and scalp and I can go many days without washing it. Usually, I wash my hair 2 times a week so it’s important that my hair stays fresh in between. That’s why I’m so excited to share my thoughts on Zionhealth’s Scalp and Hair Scrub* since I’ve been using this for the past few weeks.

What This Is

This product combines exfoliation and hair nutrients to purify the scalp and creates the perfect environment for healthy, resilient hair to grow. The Clay minerals and sea salt remove a range of impurities and stimulate the healing and protecting functions of skin cells. Each strand of hair will be left cleansed and deeply nourished, resulting in lasting shine and flexibility. It’s 100% Vegan, Sulfate Free, Paraben Free, Gluten Free!

It’s an exfoliating scrub specifically designed for your hair and scalp. It provides a deep cleanse and condition at the same time. I’ve used hair scrubs before and really like them. Since I don’t have to wash my hair very often I like making sure I can really give my hair and scalp a deep clean. If a product allows me to hold off washes my hair an extra day or two than I’m in! I also don’t want to use a product that completely strips my hair of all the natural oils or nutrients so it can’t be overly drying or harsh. As I’ve been using this for quite a few washes I feel like this product gives me a good balance of super clean hair but it’s still very healthy.

How it Works

I’ve been using every other time I wash my hair. It’s recommended you use this once a week. You apply this to wet or damp hair, massage it thoroughly and rinse. You can then follow it up with a conditioner.

After wetting my hair, I start with Zionhealth’s Scalp and Hair Scrub. Using my scalp massager I work this into my scalp and through my hair. I love taking my time massaging this in to ensure that I get it fully incorporated and then I rinse my hair really well so that all the salt is washed out. Afterwards, I finish off with my shampoo & conditioner as usual.

The consistency of the formula is nice too. The texture is very gritty thanks to the sea salt, but the cream part is very smooth. This isn’t too thin that it washes away quickly and not too thick that it feels clumpy. The formula has Coconut Oil, Biotin, Argan Oil, Vitamin E, Panthenol (a form of vitamin B5), Aloe and Ionic Minerals so that you can get a deep clean while treating and hydrating the hair. There have even been times that I’ve used what ever is left on my hands to exfoliate my body because there are so many good ingredients that it leaves my skin feeling smooth. The scent is not very strong but is pleasant. I like the combination of vanilla and coconut.

While I mostly like to style my hair after I wash it, it’s on days that I leave it to dry naturally that I notice the biggest difference. One my scalp feels clean and it doesn’t get as greasy as quickly as it would without using this product.

My Thoughts

After using this the last few washes, I feel like there is a difference in my hair and scalp. My hair which is naturally curly and frizzy looks so much more tame and the curls hold up very well. This has easily become part of my hair care routine and I literally cannot wash my hair without reaching for this product!

I definitely recommend checking this out on Adama Mineral’s website (click here) and use my code DAL10 if you want to save 10% (this works site wide!)

*Thanks to Adama Minerals for sending me this product to test out and review. The opinions shared here are my honest opinion.
