Summer has arrived and it’s been so hot these last few months. Granted this week was supposed to be full of rain for Toronto, but so far it’s been small isolated bursts of rain and some grey clouds but still really great weather. The last few weeks I’ve been enjoying lots of morning coffees and lunches outside. I even started getting my patio on. It’s been so nice to enjoy the city and as more things open up I look forward to be able to do more outdoors.
Here’s what I used up;
Skincare
REN Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask (sample). Whenever my skin feels extra dry I used this mask to help bring back some hydration. It’s a very thick cream that works really well overnight. The little sample actually lasted me a long time because I only used it when I needed so I think I’d get another little one next time I see it’s available. I would repurchase this.
Belif Youth Creator Age Knockdown Bomb (sample). I received this not too long ago from Belif and I really enjoyed this serum. The sample size was enough for about 10 uses which I think is a decent to determine if I was going to like it. I did. I used it as part of my evening routine which I shared on the blog over a month ago (you can read that post here) It left my skin feeling soft and I like the creamy texture of this serum as it was easy to apply. I would repurchase this.
L’Oreal Hydra Tone 5. This last year I’ve really upped my skincare routine and really started to carve out time in my evening to really focus on my skin. Before I never really used toner, but now I find it a vital part of my makeup removal process. Since then, I find I use toner, micellar water, and serums so much more than I used to. This was another product that was part of my evening routine blog post. It’s a good overall toner and I would totally repurchase it again because it is more affordable than something at Sephora, I just have a few others in my stash that I want to use up first.
Deciem’s Sub Q Hylamide Serum. This serum checks off a lot of boxes for me. It has collagen, hyaluronic acid and retinal-like ingredients, it’s also very liquid so it spreads over the face very easily or I can mix it with my moisturizer. I can use this day or night (although I mostly used this at night). Overall it’s good anti-aging product that is reasonably priced, I would definitely repurchase it.
Body Care
Schmidt’s Deodorant in Lavender + Sage. I have some pros and cons about this product. Pros are that it smells very good and it lasts very long on skin. It’s probably one of the best deodorants I’ve tried for keeping me smelling fresh. The cons are that it leaves a bit of a white cast on some clothing and the texture is a bit gritty so it can feel weird at first under the armpits. I would repurchase this so that I’m ready for really sweaty days but it wouldn’t be my main deodorant. I feel like over the last few years, the market for deodorants has really grown so there are a few I really like personally that I would probably wear more often than this.
Makeup
Tulle & Lace Luxe Liner in Matte Black. This is a personal love for me. Tulle & Lace is a company started by my sister and her friend so I’m very excited to share this particular empty product. This is a great matte black felt tip liner that doesn’t bleed which I absolutely love. It also doubles as a lash adhesive which is great if you wear false lashes. I don’t always wear it with lashes but even on it’s own it’s a great liner. The felt tip is stiff which makes applying it easy, the colour is a true deep black and it dries down very quickly. I love products like this and I would definitely repurchase.
L’Oreal Eyebrow Definer. I really like this eyebrow pencil, I have the dark brunette colour and it matches my brows really well. I like that the tip is small so it is easy to control where I place this on my brows. The spooly on the other side is great at brushes my brows. All in all, for a drug store product it’s pretty great. I would repurchase.
Kosas The Big Clean Volumizing + Lash Care Mascara (sample). This came in my Sephora order as a freebie product. While it’s a sample size I still think I got good use out of this product. I like the bend in this brush because it lifts the lashes. One huge downside for me is that this flaked so much on me so I would not purchase this in a large size.

That’s all the products I used up in May and June.
What did you use up these last few months?
Lots of Love,
Dal
That L’Oreal Brown Definer looks good! I feel like I go through brow products so quickly so I hate spending a lot on them. I’ve also been looking into natural deodorants as well and having a hard time finding one I love.

I totally agree, there is no point spending so much money on brow products when there are so many good affordable ones that will so the job!
With deodorants, it’s all about testing a few to find the right one for you. I find that something that works for another person maybe won’t for me so it makes sense to try it out
