When the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter first came on the market I wasn’t really drawn to it. I thought it was something I didn’t really need since I had so many tinted moisturizer. However, after seeing a lot of positive reviews and many influencers speaking highly of this product it really started to peak my interest. A few months back I was browsing on Sephora and saw there was a mini size so I thought, I might as well try it. After testing out the mini size I really liked this so I decided I’d get the full size version and I’m excited to share my thoughts on the blog.

What is it?

A complexion booster that blurs, smooths, and illuminates for a real-life filter effect. (www.Sephora.com)

Cost

Regular size is $53.00 CAD (1 oz), Mini size is $20.00 CAD (0.18 oz). This is a pricey product but I’m still currently using the mini size and after about 15 applications I’m only 2/3 done.

Shade & Packaging

I have this in two shades. The mini is in 2 Fair (peachy beige) and the larger bottle is in 2 Light (neutral peachy beige). When I swatch the two shades side-by-side I see a very little difference and with it being a light coverage product I use both easily and interchangeably.

The packaging for this is very nice. The bottle is glass and seems to be very thick and sturdy. The applicator is a large (very similar to the Tarte Shape Tape Applicator) so it’s great for dotting product all over the face.

Application and Wear

This has a light whipped liquid consistency. At first, I was thinking this would be closer to shimmery primer but it’s more like a tinted moisturizer. It’s very light coverage with a sheen that gives your skin a glow. I was actually surprised at how much I liked how this looked on the skin. I really can’t put my finger on what makes this different from my illuminating primers or other tinted mositurizers but there is something about how this sits on the skin. It doesn’t lay on it like makeup, it like melts in and leaves my my skin looking radiant yet still natural.

There is just enough coverage to even out the skin but not enough to fully cover any blemishes or dark spots or circles so what your left with is a very natural look. You can build this up a little if you do want more coverage but for me it’s really a perfect “my skin but better” look.

I wear this a few different ways; on it’s own to give my skin that awake and refreshed look, mixed with a little foundation on days I want a little coverage want my skin to appear dewy underneath, and under foundation like a primer to give me the ultimate glowy but full coverage look. It also works great on top of skin to brighten and highlight certain areas of my face such as my cheeks or inner corner of my eyes.

This keeps my skin looking great all day! There have been days where I’ve worn this from 7am to 9pm and my makeup is on that whole time before I wash it at the end of the day and this has solid staying power. I can tell when I look up close on my skin that it still look radiant. Now, it’s not always the best around my mask area (but what really holds up well under a mask), but usually the rest of my face look so good. I can’t help but appreciate how much glow it gives my skin. It’s one of those products that I can see myself wearing for a long time.

My Thoughts

This is a product I highly recommend, especially if you like a glow. It works great on it’s own or with a foundation. If you are not sure, You can always pick up the mini size and see how well it works for you. I know for me, this is a new staple product in my makeup kit.

Have you tried this product? What are your thoughts?

Lots of Love,
Dal
