Happy New Year! Can’t believe we are already a few days into 2022.

Last year was such a whirlwind, it was bad, then it was ok, then it was good, then it was bad, again! I don’t know about you, but Toronto has been on a pandemic rollercoaster. I’m really hoping that this year brings light to the end of this tunnel. I’m really looking forward to hopefully travelling this year. I’d love to go somewhere out of the country, but if not I would like to at least see more of Canada. I was thinking Montreal and Halifax for sure. Any Provinces or cities you would recommend?

Over the last two months, I have been using up a lot of my skincare products, many that were reviewed a long time ago so it makes me really happy to have something get used up! I also have a few products that I ended up having to toss as well just because it was getting old but I’ll let you know which products they were.

Here are the items I’ve used up;

Skincare

Vasanti BrightenUp! Exfoliator. Reviewed here. I used this product every few days in between my normal face washes to help deep clean the skin. While this is a physical exfoliator, I did enjoy it. Over the last little while, I’ve been turning to chemical exfoliators and I feel like they’ve been working far better on my skin so I don’t think I would repurchase this particular product. That being said, I really love the Vasanti line and would definitely pick up their other products.

Shiseido Benefiance Extra Creamy Cleansing Foam. This cleanser has made it into my empties before. I use it a lot and really do love this skincare line. This cleanser was left at my family’s house so that I could use it whenever I stayed over and the last time I was there I ended up using it up. It’s a fantastic gentle cleanser and Bio-Hyaluronic Acid beads really do melt into the skin and leave it hydrated. I would repurchase this.

La Roche Posay Hyalu B5 Serum. I can’t recall where I got this deluxe size serum but it wasn’t that long ago. It’s an anti-ageing concentrate so I was definitely including this in my skincare routine. It has hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5 and gel-like consistency. I really liked it, and will likely pick it up again whenever I can grab it on sale.

Murad Resurgence Rapid Collagen Infusion. Reviewed here. A serum I used in the evening and daytime to help plump my skin. It has collagen amino acids and omega 3, 6, and 9 to help improve hydration. I used this practically every day and thought it was great for the skin. I have quite a few serums and moisturizers now that I want to get through but I would repurchase this.

Pixi Skintreats Hydrating Milky Mist. Reviewed here. I love the feeling of a mist after washing my face or if I just want to wake up my skin. This had such a nice mist and felt so good. It has a few great ingredients that I enjoy in my skincare including hyaluronic acid and amino acids. I would definitely repurchase this.

Ole Henrikson Cold Plunge Pore Mask. If I wanted a good deep clean of my pores I would reach for this mask. The cooling sensation is also pretty cool. It has salicylic acid and lactic acid which really help with cell turnover and exfoliating the skin. The only thing I did not really love about this product was it was a bit messy to wash off, so I’m using other, more easy-to-use products to exfoliate my skin. I don’t think I’d repurchase this.

IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Gel Lotion. This little tiny sample made it to me via Sephora samples. While it’s not exactly made for my skin type (I have dry skin and this is made for normal to oily skin) I still really enjoyed it. It felt very light but was super hydrating. I might try the confidence in a cream next time since that’s more made for my skin.

L’Occitane Verveine Cooling Hand Cream. Well, it is that time of year in the city where I need to pull out the hand cream because it’s so dry and cold. I honestly have 3-4 hand creams open and in use at the moment. Each one has either a different scent or a different degree of strength based on what I need for that day. I’m always reaching for hand cream and I like the ones from L’Occitane so I would definitely repurchase this.

Makeup

Benefit They’re Real Mascara. Another staple product in my makeup stash. I already have another one of these open and in use and I think I even have one or two backups. What can I say!? I love this mascara.

Anastasia Beverly Hills DipBrow Gel. In my last Sephora haul, I mentioned really loving this product and investing in the full-size. Well, my little sample finally emptied out. As someone with long, thick, unruly brows I LOVE this product and it’s one of the few products I can wear on its own without needing extra gel. It’s a great one-step brow product for me and I would definitely repurchase this again as I haven’t been able to find anything that does the same for my brows.

L’Oreal Brow Stylist Definer. Now when I want to really enhance my brows I always reach for a brow pencil and the thinner the better. I get this off Amazon whenever I am shopping since it tends to be cheaper there. Unlike my brow gel, I don’t really have a particular favourite brow pencil so I don’t mind rotating through them since I always just purchase whatever happens to be on sale. I do like this one though so I would repurchase it.

PÜR X-Faux Lips Plumping Lip Exfoliator. Now I’m not a huge lipstick wearer so I barely ever need to exfoliate my lips before applying the product but I did use it every once in a while if I was doing a bold lip. It’s not a bad product, it’s just not something that I use all the time. I think it’s time I just threw it out because it’s getting old. I would not repurchase this product.

Wet n’Wild Contour Stick. Unfortunately, the reason why I’m getting rid of this product is not that I used it up or it’s very old. I simply lost the cap and couldn’t find another way to protect the product from getting dirty from my makeup case. So I’m going to toss it out because I can’t put it away and don’t want to leave it on my counter to collect dust before I use it. I do have another contour stick I can use so I won’t be repurchasing this.

Physicians Formula Softlight Primer. I think this is a really great glowy primer. I love wearing this mixed with my BB Creams and my Foundations for a really pretty dewy skin look. This has started to get old and has a bit of a strange smell now so I think it’s time to toss this out. I would repurchase it though!

That’s all the products I used up in November and December. I did a tally of all the products I used up in 2021 and I came to a total of 55.

What did you use up these last few months?

Lots of Love,
Dal
