Unboxing BoxyCharm, March 2018

Price: $21.00 USD (+$5.00 shipping to Canada)
Number of items: 4-5 full-size items

Boxycharm is a monthly subscription box of full-size makeup, skincare and beauty tools. The theme for this month is “Bae Cation”. The theme is fun and I love the tropical print on the card. A lot of the makeup in this month box is bright and colourful and I think they tie well with the theme.

If you read my unboxing post last month, you’ll know that BoxyCharm experienced some issues getting the boxes into Canada and my shipment was delayed. I got my BoxyCharm in a reasonable time this month. I hope that the customs issue they encountered last month has been resolved.

Prices are in USD converted to CAD at the end.

PUR The Complexion Authority Eyeshadow Palette
MSRP: $36.00 USD

UnboxingBoxyCharm_March2018_LBL' (3)

This palette was created as a collaboration between PUR and BoxyCharm and I think the colours are absolutely gorgeous! I swatched a few shades (see below) and they appear to be super pigmented and soft.

UnboxingBoxyCharm_March2018_LBL' (5)

This is the second PUR palette I’ve received in a BoxyCharm. I never opened the other one (although I loved those colours too) because it was neutral so I thought it would make a perfect gift and was holding on to it. This one, however, I want to wear myself.

Butter London Double Decker Lashes Mascara
MSRP: $20.00 USD

UnboxingBoxyCharm_March2018_LBL' (10)

This is supposedly going to give you 200% thicker lashes in just one coat and 314% increased lash curl! haha! I love that it’s 314%, how do they measure these things! This looks to be a standard brush style and I’m looking forward to trying it, but I have a few opened mascaras that I’m using up to start.

South Mane Beauty Under Eye Gels
MSRP: $10.00 USD

UnboxingBoxyCharm_March2018_LBL' (11)

I like under eye masks because I find they are great for that awake look and are moisturizing the under eye area. I look forward to trying these masks out and sharing my thoughts. I also appreciate being sent the pack of three because I can then test them out consistently.

The Vintage Cosmetic Company Smokey Eye Makeup Brush Set
MSRP: $23.15 USD

UnboxingBoxyCharm_March2018_LBL' (8)

Another product from the Vintage Cosmetic Company! I have a highlighter I received in my December Box that I’ve been enjoying so much so I’m glad that I’m slowly being introduced to this UK brand through BoxyCharm. I read on their website that they will launch in Canada in 2018! I sure hope that it is soon because I would love to try more. I love the vintage vibe.

UnboxingBoxyCharm_March2018_LBL' (9)

The set is supposed to help you create a smokey eye look and I love that each brush is numbered with a cute reference to the Elvis song, Blue Suede Shoes, but with a shadow twist on it. It’s darn cute!

Pretty Vulgar Make Them Blush in Prim Vixen
MSRP: $26.00 USD

UnboxingBoxyCharm_March2018_LBL' (6)

When I first opened this blush I was nervous that the pink was going to be super bright and way too pigmented. I’m pleasantly surprised that this is actually really light and buildable so it won’t look like a hot pink strip across my face when I wear it. I included a swatch below where I used my finger to really build up the colour so you could see it on camera but in person, it’s subtle.

UnboxingBoxyCharm_March2018_LBL' (7)

I’m glad I decided to swatch it and not judge the colour as it appeared in the pan. One thing I’m not a fan of is how cheap the packaging feels. It’s like a kids makeup type of plastic and I really don’t like it. For something that sells at Sephora at the price point above I would have thought it would be a better plastic. Either way, the colour is amazing and I love it, just an observation.

My Thoughts

I am happy with EVERYTHING in this box. Last month I had some hits and misses but this month is all hits! All the items would work really well together and I like that this goes with the theme of vacation because you could literally take everything in this box on vacation with you. Total value of the box; $115.15 USD ($148.51 CAD)

Did you get BoxyCharm this month? What did you think of your box? Get anything different than me?

Unboxing Topbox, March 2018

Price: $12.00 CAD (plus tax, free shipping) 4 items.

Topbox is a Canadian monthly beauty subscription service. Each month you have the option of getting a surprise box or to swap it for a prive box where all the products are from one brand and you know what they are. This month I wished for the Rexall Prive Box and I got it!

Wet n Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder in Blossom Glow
Full Size Price: $6.99 (5.4g), this is a full size item

UnboxingTopbox_March2018_LBL (5)

I’ve seen these highlighters in store and hear a lot of good things about them. If I’m correct, these highlighters are intense. This is a pretty dusty rose colour that I think would be super flattering on. I didn’t want to swatch this because I do have a few other highlighters I’ve been using and didn’t want to have too many open at the same time. I also really love the stamped floral print on the highlighter itself. It’s such a nice detail.

La Roche-Posay Lipikar Lotion
Full Size Price: $25.00 (200 mL), Sample Price: $1.00 (15mL)

UnboxingTopbox_March2018_LBL (6)

I’ve tried La Roche-Posay micellar water and moisturizer before and enjoyed them so I’m interested in trying this lotion. This sample is tiny so I would barely get one use out of it. Usually, Topbox only sends out 4 items and this prive box has 5 so I  guess I  won’t get too upset, but I think it would have been worthwhile to get a larger sample, especially for something designed for the body.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Intense Ink Eyeliner in Blackest Black
Full Size Price: $4.00 (2.5g), this is a full size item

UnboxingTopbox_March2018_LBL (7)

When I first saw this jumbo eyeliner I was afraid the actual liner itself was giong to be thick. Luckily it comes to a pretty small point which I prefer when doing eyeliner. I have tried other items from e.l.f. but never their eyeliner so I’m excited to try the formula and see how it compares to other eyeliners I own.

SoftLips Hello Kitty CUBE in Pom Berry
Full Size Price: $5.99 (6.5g), this is a full size item

UnboxingTopbox_March2018_LBL (1)

How cute is this!! The Hello Kitty print on the packaging is too adorable! It appears this is a clear balm and I’ve heard that SoftLips is pretty nourishing. This is meant to hydrate with shea butter, and has vitamin A, C & E to replenish the lips. I look forward to trying this out.

NYX Professional Makeup Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Tea & Cookies
Full Size Price: $10.00 (4mL), this is a full size item

UnboxingTopbox_March2018_LBL (8)

The description of this reads that this is a waterproof lippie that dries matte. Although I didn’t swatch it here I looked up some images of this colour online and looks to be a super pretty pink. I think it’ll make a great spring shade.

BONUS! Kit Anti-Anging Mask

UnboxingTopbox_March2018_LBL

Did Topbox read my mind and know that I love anti-aging masks? haha! I guess so! This was an extra in my box and I’m really happy I received it.

My Thoughts

Since this was a Prive Box that I wished for, I’m happy that I received these items. They were things that I was interested in trying and I think getting them all in this box was super nice. Stand out products for me is the e.l.f. eyeliner and the Wet N’Wild hightlighter! Total Value of my box; $27.98. This is a pretty low-value box. I didn’t include the bonus mask but that might be $3.00 max. I think that might have been why it was added to the box as an extra.

Did you get Topbox this month? What did you think of your box?

Lots of Love,
Dal

Unboxing BoxyCharm, February 2018

Price: $21.00 USD (+$5.00 shipping to Canada)
Number of items: 4-5 full-size items

Boxycharm is a monthly subscription box of full-size makeup, skincare and beauty tools. The theme for this month is “Galaxy Glow”.

In the middle of February, BoxyCharm sent me (and likely other Canadian subscribers) an email to expect the box a little later usual because a change in customs policy delayed the box a few days. When my box arrived I noticed a more in-depth declaration label than it usually has. I wonder if BoxyCharm had to redo the declarations so that they could pass through Canadian Customs and that caused the delay. Anyways, I really appreciate that BoxyCharm sent the email to give me a heads up! I would have been worried that my box might have gone missing had they not sent an email. My box was about a week later than usual. I hope that this doesn’t affect future shipments moving forward.

On to what I received!

Prices are in American Dollars, converted to Canadian at the end

Ofra Cosmetics Pop-Up Mini Palette and Blush Godett Refill in Winter Gold Rose
Palette Retail Price: $19.00 US
Blush Retail Price: $12.00 US

UnboxingBoxyCharm_Feb_2018_LBL2

The pop-up palette is a magnetic palette for you to put depotted pans into. I think this would fit about 12  standard eyeshadows. I like the style of this palette and how the magnet feels pretty strong. I have a few pans that I’ve depotted over the years so I can use them in something like this.

UnboxingBoxyCharm_Feb_2018_LBL3

I love that a blush was included with the palette and it’s a beautiful everyday natural type of colour! It’s a nude rose that would look nice during the summer when my skin is a bit more tanned. I look forward to trying this.

Cover FX Shimmer Veil in Amethyst
Retail Price: $28.00 US

UnboxingBoxyCharm_Feb_2018_LBL4

Oh man! I wish I got this guy during the holidays when I was needing something like this for all those holiday parties I attended! Either way, I’m still happy with it now. This is a creamy pale purple shadow with silver micro-glitter that would look cute all over the eyelid in the spring! It’s not as intense as the glitter shadows from Stila so I feel I would wear it a lot more.

UnboxingBoxyCharm_Feb_2018_LBL5tested this on my eyes a day ago and I like that it didn’t crease. The formula is light and creamy but and colour is opaque. It applies evenly over my eyelids. This is the only “glow” product I received in the box.

Vintage Cosmetics Smokey Eye Pencil in Black
Retail Price: $21.00 US

UnboxingBoxyCharm_Feb_2018_LBL7

Can’t go wrong with a nice black liner in my books! I didn’t swatch this because I have my Marc Jacobs liner I’m trying to empty from my Project Pan for 2018 so I didn’t want to open this. Hopefully it’s an intense black  that is creamy and long lasting.

Pur the Complexion Authority X-Faux Lip Plumping Exfoliator
Retail Price: $17.00 US

UnboxingBoxyCharm_Feb_2018_LBL9

I’ve never seen a plumbing lip exfoliator before but I’m very intrigued by this. I love lip plumpers but the ones I own are in lip gloss form and all of my lip exfoliators are in jars. I like is that this is a twist up pen which should make application easier and more hygienic. I wonder if I’ll see a difference with this plumping my lips. I will test this out and let you all know what I think!

Crown Pro Trio Brush Set
Retail Price: $29.99 US

UnboxingBoxyCharm_Feb_2018_LBL10

I was immediately excited about the medium sized brush in this set because I imagine it would be perfect for blending out concealer. It just has the right amount of density for me that I would think it would be great for that. The large sized brush would be great to powder under the eyes or as a blush brush and the small sized brush would be good to apply eyeshadow.

UnboxingBoxyCharm_Feb_2018_LBL11

I am quite obsessed with brushes and these ones are super soft and really light. The only downside is the handles are really chunky which makes it harder for me to store them in my brush roll.

My Thoughts

Although this box doesn’t go along with the glow theme, I still think the items are good. I am happy with the brushes and Ofra palette and the blush. Total Value of my box, $126.99 ($163.72)!

Smashbox Be Legendary Liquid Metal in Crimson Chrome
Full Size: $28.00 (8mL), Sample Size: $15.63 (5mL)

TopboxFebruary2018_LBL5

I think I saw this colour a lot during the holidays, I have a feeling a received this as a deluxe sample from Sephora or something. Anyways this is a pretty high shine red. The description describes this as a liquid lipstick formula with the full coverage of a lipstick and the shine of a gloss. I haven’t tried this before so I’m for giving it a go.

The Face Shop MASK.LAB Anti-Aging Foil Face Mask
One Mask: $4.00 (25g)

TopboxFebruary2018_LBL3

Oh yay! An anti-ageing mask! I am so excited for this. I always enjoy face masks, especially when it’s meant to fight wrinkles. One trick I do is save any extra serum from these overly saturated packets, that way I’ll be able to use them even after I’m done with the mask.

LARITZY Cosmetics Eye Pencil in Shimmer
Full Size: $18.00 (1g), this is a full-size item

TopboxFebruary2018_LBL6

I’m happy to receive this in my Topbox because I don’t have any white eye liner pencils. I think they look so pretty in the water line or as an inner lid highlight shade to make your eyes pop. This is a super creamy pencil with a slight pearl-like sheen and isn’t a stark white colour. It’ll look very flattering on the eyes.

Wella Professionals Oil Reflections Luminous Shampoo & Conditioner
Full Size Shampoo: $21.32 (250 mL), Full Size Conditioner: $21.32 (200mL)
Sample Size Shampoo: $4.26 (50 mL), Sample Size Conditioner: $3.20 (30 mL)

TopboxFebruary2018_LBL4

A perfect little travelling pair of hair items! These two items are meant to leave the hair deeply cleansed and luminous. It also smells so good! It has a really clean, sweet scent.

My Thoughts
I’m going to start using these items right away. The liner is going to be perfect in spring when I start wearing light makeup looks. I’m hoping the mask can provide some good hydration and improve elasticity as it claims. With my hair feeling dull lately I’m definitely going to put the Wella shampoo and condition to the test. The total value of my box: $45.09.

Unboxing BoxyCharm, January 2018

Price: $21.00 USD (+$5.00 shipping to Canada)
Number of items: 4-5 full-size items

Boxycharm is a monthly subscription box of full-size makeup, skincare and beauty tools. The theme for this month is “Rock 2018″. I think it’s a fun and new year feeling theme. I also love that some items received in this month’s box really go with the theme.

Dr. Brandt Pores No More Luminzer Primer
Retail Price: $38.00 USD

BoxyCharmJan2018_LBL (4)

I think this is my favourite product from this box! I was about to purchase the GlamGlow Glowstarter illuminizing primers from Sephora, but when I saw this I decided not to because this is an illuminating primer. It’s like BoxyCharm read my mind!

This delivers a naturally radiant glow while blurring pores and imperfections. Yes, please! I wonder if BoxyCharm has some deal with Dr. Brandt because I see their items quite often in the boxes. I’m not complaining because they are amazing products that are pricey, I’m just curious.

It Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil
Retail Price: $24.00 USD

BoxyCharmJan2018_LBL (5)

I received a sample size of this eyebrow pencil a long time ago in an Ipsy bag (I totally miss that subscription) and I remember liking it. Based on the amount of pressure you apply to your brows, the pencil either can be intense or soft.

BoxyCharmJan2018_LBL (6)

I like this shade of taupe and look forward to using this again.

Crown Pro Glam Metals Palette
Retail price: $25.00 USD

BoxyCharmJan2018_LBL (8)

I was surprised that Crown created makeup because I thought they were mostly a brushes company. This packaging is adorable! I love the flying guitar mirror on the inside.

The colours are pigmented and smooth. Except for Black Metal, these are all shimmers so I will need to use other palettes to build my base but these all make great lid shades. Since getting the Kat Von D shade and light palette I’ve been enjoying colourful eyeshadows.

Pur Bronze and Brighten Cheek Palette
Retail Price: $34.00 USD

BoxyCharmJan2018_LBL (3)

Last month I received a shimmery cheek palette, highlight and bronzer through my BoxyCharm that I have no need for this one right away. I do like the highlight and blush colour included but I’m not going to use this seeing as I already have new items from last month that I’ve already started using. I may end up passing this along to a friend.

Girlactik Matte Lip Paint in Demure
Retail Price; $23.00 USD

BoxyCharmJan2018_LBL (7)

I have a few of these dark nude lipsticks and honestly, I’m starting to get sick of them in my boxes. I just wish I could get something else! A red, pink, glitter or clear colour would be so refreshing! I usually love these colours but I have too many!!!

I’m not sure if I’ll use this lipstick because this formula is supposedly amazing. I’ve heard it’s longlasting, lightweight and doesn’t transfer.

My Thoughts

Except for the repeat colour on the matte lip paint, I’m super happy with what I received in BoxyCharm. I might give away the Pur cheek set but I still think it’s a great item. I most happy about the pores no more primer! Total Value: $144 USD ($179.95)

Did you get BoxyCharm this month? What was your favourite item?

Topbox is a Canadian monthly beauty subscription service. Each month you have the option of getting a surprise box or to swap it for a prive box where all the products are from one brand and you know what they are. This month I opted for a surprise box!

I keep hoping that they’ll have a prive box with items I want because I really love those more than the surprise boxes. Here’s hoping they have few good options for February.

Cougar Cosmetics Perfect Pout Lip Plumper
Full-Size Price: $25.96 (10mL), this is a full-size item

TopboxJan2018_LBL (6)

I’ve never heard of Cougar Cosmetics before but they are a beauty brand out of the UK! That’s exciting! They have skincare, makeup and haircare items. The price is high for this because of the conversion rate from GBP to CAD, so I’m happy I have it in my Topbox to test.

This lip plumper mimic’s hyaluronic acid injection by doubling its synthesis level but also stimulates the synthesis of matrix and dermal-epidermal junction molecules. (www.cougarbeautyproducts.com)

TopboxJan2018_LBL (7)

The reviews on the website are pretty great so I’m looking forward to this plumping up my lips. I like that it’s clear and it has a gloss-like consistency. My only drawback is that it smells like Vick’s Vaporub :/

Glamglow Waterburst™ Hydrated Glow Moisturizer
Full Size Price: $62.00 (50mL), Sample Price: $6.20 (5mL)

TopboxJan2018_LBL (8)

YESS!!!! Topbox bringing in the Glamglow samples! I love that this is the waterburst moisturizer, I can’t have too many hydrating products so I’m excited about this.

TopboxJan2018_LBL (1)

It has a light and creamy texture that feels like water melting into the skin. I’m also loving the gummy candy scent.

Nioxin Instant Fullness Dry Cleanser
Full Size Price: $25.99 (4.22oz), Sample Price: $9.36 (1.52oz)

TopboxJan2018_LBL (3)

Ask me two years ago and I would have told you that I stay as far as possible from anything that claims to be volumizing.

TopboxJan2018_LBL (4)

Today, however, I’m all about fullness. I’m looking forward to testing this out and determining how I feel about it.

Cake Beauty Heavy Cream
Full Size Price: $22.00 (150mL), Sample Price: $4.40 (30mL)

TopboxJan2018_LBL (5)

I love the scent of the Cake Beauty Hand/Body creams and with winter now I have a use for this.

My Thoughts

I got exciting items in this month’s box. I’m most excited to try the Cougar Beauty lip plumper. I’m really happy with Topbox and I hope they continue to bring boxes like this monthly. Total Value of my box: $45.92

Did you get Topbox? What have you received this month?

Unboxing Topbox, December 2017

It’s almost Christmas!!!! I am so excited to be spending some quiet time with family and friends and enjoying some hot chocolate by the fireplace! Do you have any plans for the holidays?

Price: $12.00 CAD (plus tax, free shipping) 4 items.

The Beauty Crop 3 Amigos Eye Shadow Trio
Full Size Price: $13.00 CAD, this is a full size item
Topbox Dec 2017_LBL (5)
First off, this packaging is sooooo cute! I’m totally loving the character pineapple and avocado on the outer box. These colours are perfect everyday shades. I have a lot of similar shades in my many palettes and I love colours like this. The reviews on The Beauty Crop website is positive for this trio so I’m hoping that the pigmentation is good!

MAC Cosmetics in Extreme Dimension Lash Mascara
Full Size Price: $29.37 CAD (13 mL), Sample Size Price: $2.25 CAD (1 mL)
Topbox Dec 2017_LBL (4)

This is the second time I see MAC in a subscription box! I received their eyebrow pencil in my BoxyCharm back in September and now I’ve got a sample mascara. I think the packaging is really interesting and I’ve never tried this mascara before so I’m interested in testing it out!

Medusa’s Makeup Lipstick in Sugar Daddy
Full Size Price: $15.35 CAD (3.5g), this is a full size item
Topbox Dec 2017_LBL (3)

I think this is such a pretty neutral colour. This is cruelty-free, made in USA and vegan, all things I can be excited about!

Wella Professionals EIMI Dry Me Dry Shampoo
Mini Size Price: $8.61 (39.9g), this is a mini size item
Topbox Dec 2017_LBL (2)

I like receiving dry shampoos in the mini sizes because I find they are so useful for traveling. I don’t use dry shampoo all the time but I do like it every once in a while when I want to go an extra day without washing my hair.

My Thoughts
This month had a good range of different products from eyes, to lips, to hair. I’m so excited with everything in this box and can’t wait to try it all. I was debating whether to cancel Topbox after this year, but the last few boxes have been good so I’ll continue until they start to disappoint! Total Value of my box: $39.21 CAD!

BONUS! Complimentary Pack
Topbox Dec 2017_LBL (6)
Topbox recently migrated their website and had sent emails to subscribers of their old website to resubscribe onto the new one. As gratitude for switching, they sent out a complimentary pack of items including;

  • Cake Beauty Desserted Island Supreme Body Mousse
  • Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo
  • MaskerAide Tell Me Pout It
  • GlamGlow SuperMud

I’ve tried most of these items before and I really enjoy them so I’m pretty excited about this bonus pack!

Unboxing BoxyCharm, December 2017

Price: $21.00 USD (+$5.00 shipping to Canada)
Number of items: 4-5 full-size items

Boxycharm is a monthly subscription box of full-size makeup, skincare and beauty tools. The theme for this month is “Glitz & Glam”. This is obviously a holiday-centric theme but I like that you can pretty much create a whole look with the items I received.

BoxyCharm Dec 2017_LBL (2)

As a quick update, I subscribed to BoxyCharm earlier this year and originally only thought I’d stick to a three-month subscription. It’s been some time and I’m really loving the box! It’s approx $33.00 when converted to CAD (with shipping) but I love the value of the box and I’ve been able to share or gift a lot of the items. I’m likely to stick with the subscription for a while.

RealHer Blush Kit
Retail Price: $32.00 USD

BoxyCharm Dec 2017_LBL (9)
This is the third time I’ve received RealHer products in my box but I do like the brand so far so I’m happy to get this blush trio.
BoxyCharm Dec 2017_LBL (1)I originally wasn’t sure if I was going to save this for myself or give it to someone else but after finding that the colours are muted I think I will keep it for myself. I like blushes that are light and buildable.

Beaute Basics Bronze Essentials
Retail Price: $39.95 USD
BoxyCharm Dec 2017_LBL (6)
I was excited about this bronzer until I opened it up and noticed the large strips of glitter. The card from BoxyCharm reads that you can use the pans individually or together.
BoxyCharm Dec 2017_LBL (7)
I like to use a big fluffy brush for bronzing so I’m not sure how well I’ll be able to only use it individually. I’ll give this a try to decide if I might be able to use it but I honestly see this as being something I’d use on my eyes instead.

Makeup Geek Showstopper Creme Stain
Retail Price: $12.00 USD
BoxyCharm Dec 2017_LBL (5)

I love receiving Makeup Geek in my BoxyCharm because I wouldn’t buy it on my own. This is a pretty nude that I would wear myself but I know my sister might like it better so I’m going to pass this along to her.  I’m not sure what the shade name is because it’s nowhere on the packaging.

Tarte Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara
Retail Price: $23.00 USD
BoxyCharm Dec 2017_LBL (8)
I love this mascara and I already have one that’s almost empty so I’m beyond excited to have a new one. This has a rubber brush tip and I like it for fanning out my lashes.

Vintage Cosmetics Illuminating Face Highlighter in Rose Gold
Retail Price: $32.00 USD
BoxyCharm Dec 2017_LBL (4)

I’m in love with the packaging on this product. It’s a heavy duty white plastic with gold detail. It’s so elegant. The highlighter itself is pretty and would work with my skin tone I just think it’s very glittery. I might not use this as a highlight but I think it would work for me as a blush topper or over the lids.

My Thoughts
This box is OK from BoxyCharm. Usually, I’m wowed by everything and this time around I’m feeling so-so. I was hoping that with it being the holidays I’d get something more sparkly or a lip colour that was more festive. I am very happy with the mascara, highlighter and blush set so there are some redeeming elements in this box. Total Retail value: $138.95 USD ($178.77 CAD!)

Did you get BoxyCharm this month? What was in your box?

Unboxing and First Impressions, Monthly Watch Club

It’s always fun to try something a little different than the usual unboxing here on the blog. Today I’m sharing an unboxing for box that I’m really intrigued by. That’s the Monthly Watch Club* box.
Monthly Watch Club (1)

Monthly Watch Club is a subscription service where every month you receive one custom made watch. They work with watch designers around the world to bring subscribers affordable watches. You can choose whether you want a male or female subscription.

This costs $39.99 CAD plus $7.00 shipping within Canada.

I’ve never heard of a watch subscription service so I was curious about the quality and style of the watch. My watch was received in a Canada Post bag wrapped tightly in bubble wrap. The black box that it came in is sturdy with the Monthly Watch Club name and logo on the top. I really appreciate this packaging because it makes the watch an easy gift or a nice way to store the watch when not in use.

Monthly Watch Club (6)

The watch I received has a genuine leather brown strap. It has a beautiful gold face with Roman numeral dials. On the front and back of the watch is the Monthly Watch Club logo which I think is a nice touch.

Monthly Watch Club (4)
I like that it’s a smaller and sleeker watch with a thin strap because that’s what I would go for. I usually wear my smartwatch every day but I would switch it up for a watch like this for when I’m dressing up.
Monthly Watch Club (3)After seeing the watch in person I can imagine a subscription like this would be great for someone who enjoys watches and accessories because it’s a good quality and the style is nice (you can also find styles from previous months on the website).

There are different subscription levels (month to month, 3 month prepay, 6 month prepay or 12 month prepay). So if you only want to add a few or many watches to your collection you could easily do that.

Monthly Watch Club

I thought of this as a good gift option for some of the men and women in my life because they can be difficult to shop for. Something like this is easy because they would get a new style every month to enjoy and I could pick a subscription option that fit my budget.

You can find more information and sign up for monthly watch club here.

Monthly Watch Club (7)

My Thoughts

I personally don’t see the need for so many watches for myself, but I can think of a few people who would love this. I definitely think this is a great gift option for some of the people in my life who I know would enjoy receiving a new watch in the mail every month. The watch is better quality than I thought for the price so I would be super happy gifting a subscription like this.

Would you be excited to receive a new watch every month? What would be your favourite type of subscription box?

Lots of Love,
Dal

Unboxing Boxycharm, November 2017

Price: $21.00 USD (+$5.00 shipping to Canada)
Number of items: 4-5 full-size items

Boxycharm is a monthly subscription box of full-size makeup, skincare and beauty tools. The theme for this month is “Sweater weather”. I do love wearing comfy sweaters as the weather gets colder.

Prices are in American Dollars, converted to Canadian at the end

What I received;

Luxie Beauty Quad Eye Travel Set
Retail Price: $32.00 USD
Unboxing Boxycharm_November_LBL5
I used to envy anyone who got Luxie brushes in their Ipsy bags because I never did! Luckily, now I’m collecting them in my Boxycharm! This is a set of four travel-size eye brushes. These are super soft brushes and I love that they are travel size because the smaller handle is easier for me to use. I’m very excited about this item and can’t wait to use them!

CoverFX Illuminating Setting Spray
Retail Price: $31.00 USD
Unboxing Boxycharm_November_LBL6

With dry skin, anything that offers to hydrate and illuminate is a plus for me. If you watch Kathleen Lights on Youtube you would have heard her mention that this is full of micro glitter so you really need to shake this well to disperse them in the liquid. I love using setting sprays so I’m happy to get this.

WinkyLux Kitten Palette
Retail Price: $25.00 USD

The packaging on this palette is so adorable! When I saw this I immediately thought of my sister because she loves cats and with her birthday in November, I decided to gift this to her. So, you probably won’t see it again on the blog unless I have the opportunity to borrow it for some time to test out the formula. If you were interested, you can click here to see some swatches. There are a few reviews on their website, but it seems to be pretty positive. It says to be soft like kittens and highly pigmented.

LAQA & CO Cloud Lips in Storm
Retail Price: $17.00 USD
Unboxing Boxycharm_November_LBL2
This is an airy matte lipstick that is highly pigmented. I like the packaging although for such a dark colour I think the actual lipstick is too thick. It might be best applied with a brush for me.

KNC Beauty Collagen Lip Masks
Retail Price: $15.00 USD
Unboxing Boxycharm_November_LBL1

You apply this jelly lip mask for 15-20 mins to condition, moisturize, plump and hydrate the lips. I’m actually wearing one now as I type and so far it seems OK. It sticks to the lips fine and can feel a little tingle (probably the plumping ingredients at work). It’s recommended to use this 2-3 times a week. A lot of serum remained on the tray so I think I could reuse the mask a second time if I put it back into the packaging. I’ll update you on my thoughts in my empties.

My Thoughts
Every month I’m always very happy with the items in my Boxycharm. For about $30-35 Canadian Dollars a month it’s worth it. I find a lot of the items make really good gifts (such as the palette). I’m excited to try the setting spray and the eye brushes. Total Value: $120 USD ($153.25 CAD)!!

Did you get Boxycharm this month? What did you think of your box?

Lots of Love,
Dal
