Laura Lee Los Angeles Party Animal Eyeshadow Palette
MSRP: $19.00 USD

UnboxingBoxyCharm_August2018_LBL7

This is a six pan pressed pigment palette of really colourful shades. I do have a few palettes of shades that are similar in other palettes and to be honest, I’m not really drawn to the colours here (although online reviews have suggested the palette is good) so I might just pass this one along to someone else.

UnboxingBoxyCharm_August2018_LBL8

I would have much preferred receiving the Boss Babe palette which was the six pan everyday neutrals palette, you can see it here. Those colours really speak to me! Also, I really don’t think that I can’t use this as a stand-alone palette, you’d need to set a base up with another palette and then use these as pops of colour. A palette that I think is really colourful but still works well on its own is the Alamar palette I got in my June BoxyCharm. Anyways, the packaging is really pretty though. I like the feel of the case, it has almost that rubbery texture and it feels very sturdy.

House of Lashes in Bambie
MSRP: $12.00 USD

UnboxingBoxyCharm_August2018_LBL4

These are really pretty wispy lashes. I like how there are a few lighter lashes mixed with the darker lashes to make them look a touch more natural.

UnboxingBoxyCharm_August2018_LBL5

These might be a long but I could definitely wear them to an evening out when I’m getting all done up. I also really love the band on these because it is thin and clear. These lashes are cruelty-free.

Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Straight Up
MSRP: $24.00 USD

UnboxingBoxyCharm_August2018_LBL10

Online this was described as terracotta cream and it’s a really pretty chocolate brown shade. I love brown-nude shades but this is much different than what I have because it looks straight brown on my lips, it totally gives me that 90s vibe.

UnboxingBoxyCharm_August2018_LBL11

I think this is going to be amazing to wear in the Fall! I tried this on the lips and it’s super pigmented so one swipe is all you need and it’s also very comfy on the lips. It doesn’t feel like anything which I love.

Bang Beauty Chocolate Eye Liner
MSRP: $22.00 US

UnboxingBoxyCharm_August2018_LBL9

A few boxes ago I got an awesome black liner from Pretty Vulgar in my BoxyCharm, this month I was super excited to get a brown liner! I actually LOVE brown liners, I always keep a set of black and brown pencil liners and liquid liners and now I have a set of gel ones! I haven’t tested this to know for sure if it’s good but I am excited to try it. You can use this as eyeliner, an eyeshadow base or to touch up brows. Sounds pretty interesting.

Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Gold Eye Masks
MSRP: $13.00 US

UnboxingBoxyCharm_August2018_LBL6

These gold foil eyeshadows are meant to hydrate under the eyes and reduce the appearance of dark circles. They have hyaluronic acid, lavender oil and aloe oil which all work together to reduce wrinkles and to cool and soothe your undereye. I can’t wait to test these out!

Adesse Organic Infused Age Defying Nail Treatment Essentials Sweet Almond Cuticle Oil
MSRP: $18.00 US

UnboxingBoxyCharm_August2018_LBL3

When I first saw this package I thought it was a nail lacquer because I didn’t read the description on the box and I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it was a nail treatment! As you may know, I don’t wear nail polish on my nails, only on my toenails, but I still apply treatments and oils to my cuticle and nail area to keep them strong. The one I currently have is getting old so this will make a good replacement. This is formulated with Vitamin E, Shea, Sweet Almond, and Jojoba Oils that are blended together to create a luxurious treatment that softens the cuticles moisturizes and hydrates the nails (boxycharm.com).

My Thoughts

I think this was an ok box. The last few months I’ve been overly excited about my boxes but this was alright for me. I could do without the palette (even if I have a million neutral palettes, I still prefer them over colourful ones). I’m really happy with everything else, especially the cuticle oil and chocolate gel liner!

Total Value: $108.00 US (141.30 CAD)

Farmacy Beauty Bright On Mask (made exclusively for BoxyCharm)
MSRP: $38.00 USD

20180715_182414

OH WOW! I’ve always wanted to try Farmacy Beauty but their products are so expensive! Luckily I get to test it out now with this mask. This is a vitamin C clay mask that turns from purple to green. This helps to remove impurities and buildup while improving skin’s brightness. I’ve been needing something like this for my skin because I have been breaking out lately.

Crown Brush Fuego Eyeshadow Collection
MSRP: $29.99 USD

20180715_182815

The pan sizes of this palette are pretty large and it does carry some weight (it’s 20g Net). Now, I’ll be honest, as someone who has a lot of palettes this one isn’t too exciting for me.

20180715_182843

The warm tones are beautiful and I did see some positive reviews for the palette but it’s not exciting for me. It would be something I would save to gift a friend who I know doesn’t have the same amount of makeup as I do.

Wander Beauty Unlashed Volume and Curl Mascara
MSRP: $24.00 USD

20180715_182450

I love mascaras with curved wands because they work the best on my lashes. I actually like the tube style packaging because then I can get to all the product inside.

20180715_182520

This has ingredients to condition and moisturize the lash. It’s also supposed to be clump-free, flake-free, smudge-proof finish and won’t dry out. I can’t wait to test it out!

Note Cosmetics Luminous Silk Compact Blusher
MSRP: $11.99 USD

20180715_182632

This is designed to work for all skin types, it’s a luminous, paraben free blush. This is a really nice compact. It comes with a cute little brush. This has argan oil.

I do really like the colour of this blush. It’s a pretty rose shade that I think will look very nice on.

Chella Beauty Eyebrow Cream in Tantalizing Taupe
MSRP: $26.00 USD

20180715_182753

I am loving this compact packaging. This is as big as a lip gloss but inside is a brush and eyebrow cream.  It’s actually great for on the go.

20180715_182733

I think this colour will work really well with my hair colour because it is a bit more cool tone. I usually don’t use eyebrow creams but ever since trying Clinque’s Pretty Easy Powder Brow product and liking it, I’m open to trying new formulas. You can see my review of Clinque’s Brow Product here.

20180715_182043

My Thoughts

Except for the eyeshadow palette which I will save for someone else, I’m so excited for everything in this box especially the Farmacy Mask because my skin needs it.  I think the brow cream will be great for travelling and The blush could really work on my skin tone.

Did you BoxyCharm this month? What was in your box?

Unboxing BoxyCharm, June 2018

It is gorgeous outside as I write this but it is so warm in Toronto! I love it! Although I received my BoxyCharm about a week and a half ago, I’ve been pretty busy so I finally made time to post this unboxing!

Price: $21.00 USD (+$5.00 shipping to Canada)
Number of items: 4-5 full-size items

Boxycharm is a monthly subscription box of full-size makeup, skincare and beauty tools. The theme for this month is “Caribbean Queen”. The products are very Caribbean inspired and makes me feel summer vibes!

ALL PRICES IN USD CONVERTED TO CAD AT THE END

Alamar Cosmetics Reina Del Caribe Palette
MSRP: $28.00 USD

I am so in love with the packaging of this palette! It has 8 intensely pigmented shades, with colours that are inspired by Cuban beauty and culture. I swatched a few colours and thought they were so pretty and bold! I really can’t wait to start using this on my eyes.

20180629_120356

I’ll have to share a look on Insta when I do. Beside each shade, name is either a sun or water droplet symbol. All of them can be used dry, but the ones with a water symbol can be used with a wet brush.

Battington Monroe Silk Lashes
MSRP: $28.00 USD

20180629_120155

These are handmade 100% silk lashes which explains why they are so pricey. I probably would never pick them up, but I’m willing to try them since they came in my BoxyCharm. I think the packing is really nice on this too. The lashes themselves are really soft and look very natural looking.

Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream
MSRP: $10.00 USD

20180629_120237

I LOVE this cream! I have a large tub of this in my bathroom that I love using it all over my body. It leaves me feeling really hydrated. This contains a tiny amount of mica that when applied over the body gives a little glow (it looks like micro-sparkle). The scent of pistachio caramel is soooooo good! I love this little tub because I can take this with me when travelling!

Luxie 3 Piece Flawless Complexion
MSRP: $42.00 USD

20180629_120511

I love Luxie brushes and I’m really excited to receive them in this month’s box! The 660 Precision Foundation Brush has less bristle density that makes it good for applying powder and liquid foundation to create a soft, diffused look. The 522 Tapered Highlighting Brush is really fluffy to apply highlight on the high points on the face. The 516 Duo Fiber Powder Brush is good for applying cream or powder products for a softer diffused look. Although the 522 and 516 look the same, the 516 does feel denser which is good for applying cream products. If I used cream blush I might like this more. I have a mineral foundation that I want to try the 660 brush with and I actually want to use the 516 to buff out eyeshadow to give me a softer look. I wish at least one brush was a bit larger to make it more suited for foundation application.

Jonteblu Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil
MSRP: $5.00 USD

20180629_120104

I love brown eyeliners and as I use up the one I currently have, I’m glad to have a new one ready as a backup. This is 100% vegan and waterproof.

Ofra Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Verona
MSRP: $21.00 USD

20180629_120305

With the bright eyeshadow that came in the palette, I can understand that BoxyCharm decided to add a nude lip colour. I like getting Ofra items because I would not necessarily buy anything from them although I hear really good things about their products. I think it’s because I’d rather go into a store and buy their products to test out and they don’t sell in any store I know of.

My Thoughts

20180629_120041

I am so happy with this box! It really stuck to the theme, offering items that remind me of the Caribbean.  I also like that I can create a look using the items offered. It was a really well thought out box! Total Value $134.00 ($176.29 CAD!)

PUR Sculptor Palette
MSRP: $30.00 USD

20180518_141900

This is a four-pan palette with two contours and two very shimmery highlight shades. I thought at first that this might be too dark for my complexion but the contour powders are not as dark when swatched as they appear in the pan (see my swatches below)

20180518_141930

Still, I think this might be suited for those who have a medium skin tone. Of course, I could wear these shades for my eyes. I find a lot of times I love wearing contour as an eyeshadow because it just works so well as a crease or lid shade. The highlight colours are really pretty that I would definitely use them on my face or eyes!

CoverFX Blurring Primer
MSRP: $38.00 USD

20180518_141658

This primer helps blur the appearance of pores. I like using blurring primers around my nose when I’m wearing a high coverage makeup because it smooths my skin and makes my foundation look flawless. I used to own the CoverFX anti-ageing primer and I rather enjoyed it so I’m curious if this is similar.

Pretty Vulgar The Ink Gel Eyeliner
MSRP: $24.00 USD

20180518_141240

How cute is this packaging! I love that this looks like a quill ink container. The gel inside is highly-pigmented and dries down really quickly. It’s been a long time that I’ve used a gel liner but there was a time when I preferred them over liquid or pencil liners. I remember I could do a really sharp wing using gel liner and an angled brush so I’m excited to test my skills at that again!

Aesthetica 3 Piece Eye Trio
MSRP: $46.00 USD

20180518_141452

I think it’s perfect to send along these eye brushes with the gel eyeliner from Pretty Vulgar because then you have the tools to use the eyeliner. These felt really soft but also very sturdy.

20180518_141502

I love getting brow spoolies because I use them all the time. I think the angled brush could be used for eyeliner or for brow products. Lastly, the fine tipped brush would be nice to use with gel liner, or even if you wanted to do a soft line using eye shadow.

Aesthetica P12 Face Brush
MSRP: $27.00 USD

20180518_141346

Again, I think it’s really great to get a tool that can be used with the face palette in the same box. It just makes it easy if you are building a collection of makeup or just don’t have a brush on hand. This domed and fluffy brush might work well with the PUR face palette either as a very soft contour brush or even to apply the highlight. I might use this brush to apply translucent powders but I’ll test it out and see how I like using it.

Beauty Creations Liquid Lip Gloss in Sweet Heart
MSRP: $10.00 USD

20180518_141726

This is a matte liquid lip gloss that provides full coverage and dries to a smooth matte finish. At first, I thought I received another nude colour but this is actually a berry colour which I’m way more excited for. I immediately tried it on my lips! I would need to wear lipliner with this (I’m not good at getting formulas like this within my lip line which is why I didn’t take a photo of it on). It’s super comfortable on and I liked the way it looked on.

My Thoughts

This box is great! I like that a lot of the makeup items came with brushes that they can be used with and I think the coverFX primer is something that I’d be interested to try. Total Value: $175.00 USD ($224.25 CAD) I think this is one of the highest value I’ve received from BoxyCharm, and I only pay about $35.00 CAD for it!

Colourpop Semi-Precious Eyeshadow Palette
Retail Price: $29.00 USD

UnboxingBoxyCharm_April 2018_LBL (9)

This is 8-pan shimmery shadow palette. I really like the range of colours in this palette and I think the pigmentation is great!

UnboxingBoxyCharm_April 2018_LBL (10)

I included some swatches below. Looking on the Boxycharm website, subscribers received one of five different colourpop eyeshadow palette. I look forward to using this in some eye looks.

Tarte Tartiest Pro Glow Liquid Highlighter in Exposed
Retail Price: $29.00 USD

UnboxingBoxyCharm_April 2018_LBL (7)

I don’t use too much liquid highlighter (if you’ve seen my project pan post, you understand my struggle to use up the Cover FX Liquid Highlighter sample!) I do like the shade of this highlighter and think it will work really well for my skin tone. I included a swatch below where you can see how glowy this appears. It has a few specks of sparkle but it’s not very noticeable and I really enjoyed how it looked on my shoulder so I might end up using it as a body highlight.

Dr. Brandt Pores No More Vacuum Cleaner
Retail Price: $47.00 USD

UnboxingBoxyCharm_April 2018_LBL (6)

The description of this mask says that it will unclog and tighten the look of pores. This is made for oily/combination skin, however, I would definitely use this in areas of my face that have clogged pores such us my nose area. I always enjoy receiving Dr. Brandt items. I feel like I’ve got quite a nice collection of their skincare line through BoxyCharm so I can really test the brand out.

The Brow Gal Instatint Tinted Eyebrow Gel
Retail Price: $22.00 USD

UnboxingBoxyCharm_April 2018_LBL (8)

This is a tinted eyebrow gel with microfibers that is meant to help achieve a natural hair look. My brows give me so much difficulty so I enjoy gels because they tend to hold my hairs in place. I received  this in the brown hair colour which should work on me. I didn’t want to open this because I have other brow products I’m using at the moment.

Adesse Hi-Definition Liquid Lipstick
Retail Price: $24.00 USD

UnboxingBoxyCharm_April 2018_LBL (5)

This didn’t have a shade name but based on my best guess from the website I think I got Haute Cocoa, which is a pretty deep nude colour. This is a sticky formula that is really shiny and thick. It has this chocolate candy scent which I love. I read a lot of positive reviews for this so I look forward to giving it a try!

My Thoughts

Once again BoxyCharm has sent a box of really great items. I look forward to using the Colourpop shadow palette. I’m also happy to have more Dr. Brandt items. All around this is a really awesome box. Total Value; $151.00 US ($194.45 CAD)!!

UnboxingBoxyCharm_April 2018_LBL (4)

I’ve been getting BoxyCharm for a year now and I must say that I think the subscription is really great. I use so many of the items and those that I don’t use make great gifts to friends and family. I’ve been tempted to invest in one more year of these boxes, but we will see I may just continue to get 3 months at a time.

Unboxing BoxyCharm, March 2018

Price: $21.00 USD (+$5.00 shipping to Canada)
Number of items: 4-5 full-size items

Boxycharm is a monthly subscription box of full-size makeup, skincare and beauty tools. The theme for this month is “Bae Cation”. The theme is fun and I love the tropical print on the card. A lot of the makeup in this month box is bright and colourful and I think they tie well with the theme.

If you read my unboxing post last month, you’ll know that BoxyCharm experienced some issues getting the boxes into Canada and my shipment was delayed. I got my BoxyCharm in a reasonable time this month. I hope that the customs issue they encountered last month has been resolved.

PUR The Complexion Authority Eyeshadow Palette
MSRP: $36.00 USD

UnboxingBoxyCharm_March2018_LBL' (3)

This palette was created as a collaboration between PUR and BoxyCharm and I think the colours are absolutely gorgeous! I swatched a few shades (see below) and they appear to be super pigmented and soft.

UnboxingBoxyCharm_March2018_LBL' (5)

This is the second PUR palette I’ve received in a BoxyCharm. I never opened the other one (although I loved those colours too) because it was neutral so I thought it would make a perfect gift and was holding on to it. This one, however, I want to wear myself.

Butter London Double Decker Lashes Mascara
MSRP: $20.00 USD

UnboxingBoxyCharm_March2018_LBL' (10)

This is supposedly going to give you 200% thicker lashes in just one coat and 314% increased lash curl! haha! I love that it’s 314%, how do they measure these things! This looks to be a standard brush style and I’m looking forward to trying it, but I have a few opened mascaras that I’m using up to start.

South Mane Beauty Under Eye Gels
MSRP: $10.00 USD

UnboxingBoxyCharm_March2018_LBL' (11)

I like under eye masks because I find they are great for that awake look and are moisturizing the under eye area. I look forward to trying these masks out and sharing my thoughts. I also appreciate being sent the pack of three because I can then test them out consistently.

The Vintage Cosmetic Company Smokey Eye Makeup Brush Set
MSRP: $23.15 USD

UnboxingBoxyCharm_March2018_LBL' (8)

Another product from the Vintage Cosmetic Company! I have a highlighter I received in my December Box that I’ve been enjoying so much so I’m glad that I’m slowly being introduced to this UK brand through BoxyCharm. I read on their website that they will launch in Canada in 2018! I sure hope that it is soon because I would love to try more. I love the vintage vibe.

UnboxingBoxyCharm_March2018_LBL' (9)

The set is supposed to help you create a smokey eye look and I love that each brush is numbered with a cute reference to the Elvis song, Blue Suede Shoes, but with a shadow twist on it. It’s darn cute!

Pretty Vulgar Make Them Blush in Prim Vixen
MSRP: $26.00 USD

UnboxingBoxyCharm_March2018_LBL' (6)

When I first opened this blush I was nervous that the pink was going to be super bright and way too pigmented. I’m pleasantly surprised that this is actually really light and buildable so it won’t look like a hot pink strip across my face when I wear it. I included a swatch below where I used my finger to really build up the colour so you could see it on camera but in person, it’s subtle.

UnboxingBoxyCharm_March2018_LBL' (7)

I’m glad I decided to swatch it and not judge the colour as it appeared in the pan. One thing I’m not a fan of is how cheap the packaging feels. It’s like a kids makeup type of plastic and I really don’t like it. For something that sells at Sephora at the price point above I would have thought it would be a better plastic. Either way, the colour is amazing and I love it, just an observation.

Total value of the box; $115.15 USD ($148.51 CAD)

Unboxing BoxyCharm, February 2018

Price: $21.00 USD (+$5.00 shipping to Canada)
Number of items: 4-5 full-size items

Boxycharm is a monthly subscription box of full-size makeup, skincare and beauty tools. The theme for this month is “Galaxy Glow”.

In the middle of February, BoxyCharm sent me (and likely other Canadian subscribers) an email to expect the box a little later usual because a change in customs policy delayed the box a few days. When my box arrived I noticed a more in-depth declaration label than it usually has. I wonder if BoxyCharm had to redo the declarations so that they could pass through Canadian Customs and that caused the delay. Anyways, I really appreciate that BoxyCharm sent the email to give me a heads up! I would have been worried that my box might have gone missing had they not sent an email. My box was about a week later than usual. I hope that this doesn’t affect future shipments moving forward.

On to what I received!

Ofra Cosmetics Pop-Up Mini Palette and Blush Godett Refill in Winter Gold Rose
Palette Retail Price: $19.00 US
Blush Retail Price: $12.00 US

UnboxingBoxyCharm_Feb_2018_LBL2

The pop-up palette is a magnetic palette for you to put depotted pans into. I think this would fit about 12  standard eyeshadows. I like the style of this palette and how the magnet feels pretty strong. I have a few pans that I’ve depotted over the years so I can use them in something like this.

UnboxingBoxyCharm_Feb_2018_LBL3

I love that a blush was included with the palette and it’s a beautiful everyday natural type of colour! It’s a nude rose that would look nice during the summer when my skin is a bit more tanned. I look forward to trying this.

Cover FX Shimmer Veil in Amethyst
Retail Price: $28.00 US

UnboxingBoxyCharm_Feb_2018_LBL4

Oh man! I wish I got this guy during the holidays when I was needing something like this for all those holiday parties I attended! Either way, I’m still happy with it now. This is a creamy pale purple shadow with silver micro-glitter that would look cute all over the eyelid in the spring! It’s not as intense as the glitter shadows from Stila so I feel I would wear it a lot more.

UnboxingBoxyCharm_Feb_2018_LBL5tested this on my eyes a day ago and I like that it didn’t crease. The formula is light and creamy but and colour is opaque. It applies evenly over my eyelids. This is the only “glow” product I received in the box.

Vintage Cosmetics Smokey Eye Pencil in Black
Retail Price: $21.00 US

UnboxingBoxyCharm_Feb_2018_LBL7

Can’t go wrong with a nice black liner in my books! I didn’t swatch this because I have my Marc Jacobs liner I’m trying to empty from my Project Pan for 2018 so I didn’t want to open this. Hopefully it’s an intense black  that is creamy and long lasting.

Pur the Complexion Authority X-Faux Lip Plumping Exfoliator
Retail Price: $17.00 US

UnboxingBoxyCharm_Feb_2018_LBL9

I’ve never seen a plumbing lip exfoliator before but I’m very intrigued by this. I love lip plumpers but the ones I own are in lip gloss form and all of my lip exfoliators are in jars. I like is that this is a twist up pen which should make application easier and more hygienic. I wonder if I’ll see a difference with this plumping my lips. I will test this out and let you all know what I think!

Crown Pro Trio Brush Set
Retail Price: $29.99 US

UnboxingBoxyCharm_Feb_2018_LBL10

I was immediately excited about the medium sized brush in this set because I imagine it would be perfect for blending out concealer. It just has the right amount of density for me that I would think it would be great for that. The large sized brush would be great to powder under the eyes or as a blush brush and the small sized brush would be good to apply eyeshadow.

UnboxingBoxyCharm_Feb_2018_LBL11

I am quite obsessed with brushes and these ones are super soft and really light. The only downside is the handles are really chunky which makes it harder for me to store them in my brush roll.

Dr. Brandt Pores No More Luminzer Primer
Retail Price: $38.00 USD

BoxyCharmJan2018_LBL (4)

I think this is my favourite product from this box! I was about to purchase the GlamGlow Glowstarter illuminizing primers from Sephora, but when I saw this I decided not to because this is an illuminating primer. It’s like BoxyCharm read my mind!

This delivers a naturally radiant glow while blurring pores and imperfections. Yes, please! I wonder if BoxyCharm has some deal with Dr. Brandt because I see their items quite often in the boxes. I’m not complaining because they are amazing products that are pricey, I’m just curious.

It Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil
Retail Price: $24.00 USD

BoxyCharmJan2018_LBL (5)

I received a sample size of this eyebrow pencil a long time ago in an Ipsy bag (I totally miss that subscription) and I remember liking it. Based on the amount of pressure you apply to your brows, the pencil either can be intense or soft.

BoxyCharmJan2018_LBL (6)

I like this shade of taupe and look forward to using this again.

Crown Pro Glam Metals Palette
Retail price: $25.00 USD

BoxyCharmJan2018_LBL (8)

I was surprised that Crown created makeup because I thought they were mostly a brushes company. This packaging is adorable! I love the flying guitar mirror on the inside.

The colours are pigmented and smooth. Except for Black Metal, these are all shimmers so I will need to use other palettes to build my base but these all make great lid shades. Since getting the Kat Von D shade and light palette I’ve been enjoying colourful eyeshadows.

Pur Bronze and Brighten Cheek Palette
Retail Price: $34.00 USD

BoxyCharmJan2018_LBL (3)

Last month I received a shimmery cheek palette, highlight and bronzer through my BoxyCharm that I have no need for this one right away. I do like the highlight and blush colour included but I’m not going to use this seeing as I already have new items from last month that I’ve already started using. I may end up passing this along to a friend.

Girlactik Matte Lip Paint in Demure
Retail Price; $23.00 USD

BoxyCharmJan2018_LBL (7)

I have a few of these dark nude lipsticks and honestly, I’m starting to get sick of them in my boxes. I just wish I could get something else! A red, pink, glitter or clear colour would be so refreshing! I usually love these colours but I have too many!!!

I’m not sure if I’ll use this lipstick because this formula is supposedly amazing. I’ve heard it’s longlasting, lightweight and doesn’t transfer.

My Thoughts

Except for the repeat colour on the matte lip paint, I’m super happy with what I received in BoxyCharm. I might give away the Pur cheek set but I still think it’s a great item. I most happy about the pores no more primer! Total Value: $144 USD ($179.95)

Unboxing BoxyCharm, December 2017

Price: $21.00 USD (+$5.00 shipping to Canada)
Number of items: 4-5 full-size items

Boxycharm is a monthly subscription box of full-size makeup, skincare and beauty tools. The theme for this month is “Glitz & Glam”. This is obviously a holiday-centric theme but I like that you can pretty much create a whole look with the items I received.

BoxyCharm Dec 2017_LBL (2)

As a quick update, I subscribed to BoxyCharm earlier this year and originally only thought I’d stick to a three-month subscription. It’s been some time and I’m really loving the box! It’s approx $33.00 when converted to CAD (with shipping) but I love the value of the box and I’ve been able to share or gift a lot of the items. I’m likely to stick with the subscription for a while.

RealHer Blush Kit
Retail Price: $32.00 USD

BoxyCharm Dec 2017_LBL (9)
This is the third time I’ve received RealHer products in my box but I do like the brand so far so I’m happy to get this blush trio.
BoxyCharm Dec 2017_LBL (1)I originally wasn’t sure if I was going to save this for myself or give it to someone else but after finding that the colours are muted I think I will keep it for myself. I like blushes that are light and buildable.

Beaute Basics Bronze Essentials
Retail Price: $39.95 USD
BoxyCharm Dec 2017_LBL (6)
I was excited about this bronzer until I opened it up and noticed the large strips of glitter. The card from BoxyCharm reads that you can use the pans individually or together.
BoxyCharm Dec 2017_LBL (7)
I like to use a big fluffy brush for bronzing so I’m not sure how well I’ll be able to only use it individually. I’ll give this a try to decide if I might be able to use it but I honestly see this as being something I’d use on my eyes instead.

Makeup Geek Showstopper Creme Stain
Retail Price: $12.00 USD
BoxyCharm Dec 2017_LBL (5)

I love receiving Makeup Geek in my BoxyCharm because I wouldn’t buy it on my own. This is a pretty nude that I would wear myself but I know my sister might like it better so I’m going to pass this along to her.  I’m not sure what the shade name is because it’s nowhere on the packaging.

Tarte Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara
Retail Price: $23.00 USD
BoxyCharm Dec 2017_LBL (8)
I love this mascara and I already have one that’s almost empty so I’m beyond excited to have a new one. This has a rubber brush tip and I like it for fanning out my lashes.

Vintage Cosmetics Illuminating Face Highlighter in Rose Gold
Retail Price: $32.00 USD
BoxyCharm Dec 2017_LBL (4)

I’m in love with the packaging on this product. It’s a heavy duty white plastic with gold detail. It’s so elegant. The highlighter itself is pretty and would work with my skin tone I just think it’s very glittery. I might not use this as a highlight but I think it would work for me as a blush topper or over the lids.

My Thoughts
This box is OK from BoxyCharm. Usually, I’m wowed by everything and this time around I’m feeling so-so. I was hoping that with it being the holidays I’d get something more sparkly or a lip colour that was more festive. I am very happy with the mascara, highlighter and blush set so there are some redeeming elements in this box. Total Retail value: $138.95 USD ($178.77 CAD!)

Unboxing Boxycharm, November 2017

Price: $21.00 USD (+$5.00 shipping to Canada)
Number of items: 4-5 full-size items

Boxycharm is a monthly subscription box of full-size makeup, skincare and beauty tools. The theme for this month is “Sweater weather”. I do love wearing comfy sweaters as the weather gets colder.

What I received;

Luxie Beauty Quad Eye Travel Set
Retail Price: $32.00 USD
Unboxing Boxycharm_November_LBL5
I used to envy anyone who got Luxie brushes in their Ipsy bags because I never did! Luckily, now I’m collecting them in my Boxycharm! This is a set of four travel-size eye brushes. These are super soft brushes and I love that they are travel size because the smaller handle is easier for me to use. I’m very excited about this item and can’t wait to use them!

CoverFX Illuminating Setting Spray
Retail Price: $31.00 USD
Unboxing Boxycharm_November_LBL6

With dry skin, anything that offers to hydrate and illuminate is a plus for me. If you watch Kathleen Lights on Youtube you would have heard her mention that this is full of micro glitter so you really need to shake this well to disperse them in the liquid. I love using setting sprays so I’m happy to get this.

WinkyLux Kitten Palette
Retail Price: $25.00 USD

The packaging on this palette is so adorable! When I saw this I immediately thought of my sister because she loves cats and with her birthday in November, I decided to gift this to her. So, you probably won’t see it again on the blog unless I have the opportunity to borrow it for some time to test out the formula. If you were interested, you can click here to see some swatches. There are a few reviews on their website, but it seems to be pretty positive. It says to be soft like kittens and highly pigmented.

LAQA & CO Cloud Lips in Storm
Retail Price: $17.00 USD
Unboxing Boxycharm_November_LBL2
This is an airy matte lipstick that is highly pigmented. I like the packaging although for such a dark colour I think the actual lipstick is too thick. It might be best applied with a brush for me.

KNC Beauty Collagen Lip Masks
Retail Price: $15.00 USD
Unboxing Boxycharm_November_LBL1

You apply this jelly lip mask for 15-20 mins to condition, moisturize, plump and hydrate the lips. I’m actually wearing one now as I type and so far it seems OK. It sticks to the lips fine and can feel a little tingle (probably the plumping ingredients at work). It’s recommended to use this 2-3 times a week. A lot of serum remained on the tray so I think I could reuse the mask a second time if I put it back into the packaging. I’ll update you on my thoughts in my empties.

My Thoughts
Every month I’m always very happy with the items in my Boxycharm. For about $30-35 Canadian Dollars a month it’s worth it. I find a lot of the items make really good gifts (such as the palette). I’m excited to try the setting spray and the eye brushes. Total Value: $120 USD ($153.25 CAD)!!
