Unboxing Topbox, January 2019

Price: $12.00 CAD (plus tax, free shipping) 4 items.

Topbox is a Canadian monthly beauty subscription service. Each month you have the option of getting a surprise box or to swap it for a prive box where all the products are from one brand or fall within a theme and you know what they are. This month I wished for a prive box but I didn’t get it. I got a surprise box instead.

I have decided that I will be cancelling my Topbox for my year-long no-buy. February will be my last box!

All prices in Canadian Dollars.

Steve Laurant Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick in Lilac
Full Size $22.00 (3.2g), this is a full-size item

20190118_112937

This lipstick is described as a matte, weightless, and long wearing. I like the lilac colour, it’s very unique to what I currently have in my collection and it’s nice to see a cooler toned colour instead of the deep nudes I usually get in my boxes. I haven’t worn or swatched this yet but it looks promising!

Purlisse Watermelon Aqua Balm
Full Size $45.00 (50mL), Sample Size $9.00 (10mL)

20190118_113131

Well, I’m never disappointed with more skincare! This balm sounds really good based on the description, it’s an oil-free gel cream that energizes, refreshes, soothes skin while providing hydration. It has watermelon which is packed with vitamin A, B & C, aloe vera to reduce inflammation, white tea to protect skin from cellular damage and cucumber to soothe and firm skin. These are all things that I need especially in the winter!

Morgan Taylor Professional Nail Lacquer in Pretty Wild
Full Size: $15.83 (15mL), this is a full-size item

20190118_113055

I’ve received a few different nail lacquers from Morgan Taylor through Topbox and I really like the formula. Usually, two coats are enough to give my nails full coverage. It’s a thicker formula so when it dries it feels gel-like. I really like this colour as well, I don’t think I have anything in this dusty purple so I’m happy to try it on! I think it might be a similar colour to the liquid lipstick so I can see them working together.

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief
Full Size: $46.00 (50mL), Sample Size: $6.44 (7mL)

20190118_113205

Another face cream! Woohoo! This is an oil-free, lightweight cream-gel formula that plumps skin with 24-hour hydration. I’ve tried other Clinique skincare and really like them so I’m curious to see how well this will work for me.

My Thoughts

Overall, the box was pretty good. I was a bit bummed at first that I didn’t get a prive box but I really like the collection of items that came this month, there is skincare, nail lacquer and a liquid lipstick, so a good selection of items. I’m also happy that the items are not ones I currently have in my collection.

Total Value: $53.27

Unboxing Topbox, October 2018

Price: $12.00 CAD (plus tax, free shipping) 4 items.

Topbox is a Canadian monthly beauty subscription service. Each month you have the option of getting a surprise box or to swap it for a prive box where all the products are from one brand or fall within a theme and you know what they are. This month I opted for the Laneige Prive Box and got it!

UnboxingTopboxOctober2018_LBL1

This box only has one item but I really, really wanted to try this so I couldn’t resist opting for it. I saw Tati on Youtube rave about this and I trust a lot of her recommendations. I’m not the biggest fan of cushion foundation, it’s very expensive for so little product and you have to be very careful you don’t leave this unopened or else it will dry. However, I like that the formula is thinner and lighter which works for everyday minimal makeup looks.

UnboxingTopboxOctober2018_LBL4

The Laneige BB Cushion Hydra Radiance SPF 50 it’s infused with Melacrusher™ to brighten skin and double-coated pigments to brighten and hydrate (Sephora.ca). This is exclusively sold on Sephora, you can’t find it on the Laneige website for Canada.

UnboxingTopboxOctober2018_LBL8

I like the packaging. It’s a sturdy plastic case in white that looks very elegant and I enjoy the silver detail. The box came with two cushion compacts so you have a backup when the foundation runs out.

UnboxingTopboxOctober2018_LBL2

I love that it’s broadspectrum SPF 50, one of the higher SPF’s of all the foundations I own.

UnboxingTopboxOctober2018_LBL6

I opted for the colour No.11 Porcelain (fair porcelain skin with neutral tones). I thought it looked a lot darker in the online swatch but it’s pretty light. It will work for me since the undertone is right and I can match it to my skin tone better using some bronzer. I would definitely recommend swatching these in store to determine your shade. There are only 6 shades in this range and if mine is any indication of them, they all will be lighter than they look online.

UnboxingTopboxOctober2018_LBL7

I have used this a few times now, even for my friend’s wedding and I think the coverage is good. It is light so you will need to build it up which is very easy to do because the formula is really thin. On me, I can get this to medium coverage which is how I prefer my makeup.

UnboxingTopboxOctober2018_LBL5

For the wedding, I used the Laneige BB Cushion Hydra Radiance after primer, but then went in with my Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation to build up the coverage (I really love this foundation, see my review of it here). This combo stayed in place all day and really kept my skin looking hydrated and natural.

I’m super happy I received this in my Topbox this month! I say this time and time again but I love that with Topbox I can opt to switch my surprise box for a prive option. Getting this full-size foundation for a quarter of the cost is well worth it to me, especially when I want to test it out.

Total Value: $49.00 CAD!

Did you get Topbox this month? Have you opted for any of the Prive boxes? What are your thoughts on the Laneige BB Cushion Hydra Radiance Foundation?

Lots of Love,
Dal

Unboxing, Topbox July 2018

Price: $12.00 CAD (plus tax, free shipping) 4 items.

SKIN&CO Roma Truffle Therapy Whipped Cleansing Cream
Full Size: $40.00 (150mL), Sample Size: $8.00 (30mL)

Topbox July 2018 (2)

It’s been a while since I’ve received a facial cleanser and this one sounds really good! This is a highly concentrated cleanser so a little dollop is all you need to cleanse the face which is made for dry & dull skin. This is formulated with pure Truffle Extract from Italy and Almond Oil, it works gently while providing intense hydration. I love whipped or foamy types of cleansers for my face. One of my favourite whipped formulas is the Origins Checks and Balances face wash, but this Skin&CO one sounds like it will be way more hydrating than that one so I hope it works really well on my skin!

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant, The Original
Full Size: $29.00 (50mL), $2.90 (5mL)

Topbox July 2018 (4)

I absolutely love Elizabeth Arden skincare! I don’t think I’ve ever come across an item I didn’t like. This is one of those all over, do everything type of moisturizers. You can use it to do so much including; shaping brows, soothe dry hands, smooth cuticles etc. I’d probably use this on my elbows, lips, around my eyes and so many other areas of my face and body. I love carrying creams like this to use whenever I need.

Pretty Woman NYC Nail Polish in So Minaj
Full Size: $11.84 (10mL), this is a full-size item

Topbox July 2018 (3)

This is a pretty pink frost shimmer nail polish. I put two coats of this on my toenails when I received my topbox about a week ago and they’ve held up really well. This is a thin formula which I prefer because it tends to stick my nails a bit better. These polishes are, Cruelty-Free, Paraben-Free, Sulfate-Free, Phthalates-Free, Petrochemical-Free, GMO-Free, Triclosan-Free, & Vegan.

The Beauty Crop FABULOUS FLOCKING LASHES MASCARA
Full Size: $25.00 (8ml), Sample Size: $13.48 (4mL)

Topbox July 2018 (5)

I’m not sure if what we received are the Beauty Crop mascaras before they were reformulated or if this is just the tube that they put the sample size mascara into. The one online looks like a new tube style packaging, but, what we received is a volume size that is similar to a lot of my deluxe size mascaras so I am a bit confused. You can see what I’m talking about here. I, unfortunately, can’t find them on CheckFresh.com to see if it is indeed the other version.

Topbox July 2018 (6)

Anyways, the packaging on this is super cute! I love the pink tube and the little flamingos. I this the Beauty Crop has adorable packaging. The wand isn’t exactly the style I wear a lot of but I could possibly use it for my lower lashline. I do like that this is a waterproof mascara and I love the addition of argan oil and jojoba.

BONUS! Dove Exfoliating Body Polish in Crushed Macadamia & Rice Milk

Topbox July 2018 (7)

I’m really excited about this bonus item! I have a jar of the new Dove Exfoliating Body Polish in the kiwi seeds and cool aloe scent and love it so much because it smells so fruity and fresh. I love macadamia, so I’m sure this is going to smell like a delicious dessert. The exfoliating bits in this polish feel like sand, they are really small and feel like you’re at the beach. I really love it! I think I will get two uses out of this sample and I will use it to prep my legs before shaving or apply tanning lotion

My Thoughts

Again, Topbox has another great bag! The items I received are ones that I look forward to using. I’m most excited about the whipped facial cleanser! Total Value of my box; $36.22 (bonus sample not included)

Did you receive Topbox this month? What items did you get?

Unboxing BoxyCharm, May 2018

Price: $21.00 USD (+$5.00 shipping to Canada)
Number of items: 4-5 full-size items

Boxycharm is a monthly subscription box of full-size makeup, skincare and beauty tools. The theme for this month is “Birthday Bash”. I wasn’t sure if this was to celebrate BoxyCharm’s birthday, but I think it might be.

All prices in USD converted to CAD at the end

PUR Sculptor Palette
MSRP: $30.00 USD

20180518_141900

This is a four-pan palette with two contours and two very shimmery highlight shades. I thought at first that this might be too dark for my complexion but the contour powders are not as dark when swatched as they appear in the pan (see my swatches below)

20180518_141930

Still, I think this might be suited for those who have a medium skin tone. Of course, I could wear these shades for my eyes. I find a lot of times I love wearing contour as an eyeshadow because it just works so well as a crease or lid shade. The highlight colours are really pretty that I would definitely use them on my face or eyes!

CoverFX Blurring Primer
MSRP: $38.00 USD

20180518_141658

This primer helps blur the appearance of pores. I like using blurring primers around my nose when I’m wearing a high coverage makeup because it smooths my skin and makes my foundation look flawless. I used to own the CoverFX anti-ageing primer and I rather enjoyed it so I’m curious if this is similar.

Pretty Vulgar The Ink Gel Eyeliner
MSRP: $24.00 USD

20180518_141240

How cute is this packaging! I love that this looks like a quill ink container. The gel inside is highly-pigmented and dries down really quickly. It’s been a long time that I’ve used a gel liner but there was a time when I preferred them over liquid or pencil liners. I remember I could do a really sharp wing using gel liner and an angled brush so I’m excited to test my skills at that again!

Aesthetica 3 Piece Eye Trio
MSRP: $46.00 USD

20180518_141452

I think it’s perfect to send along these eye brushes with the gel eyeliner from Pretty Vulgar because then you have the tools to use the eyeliner. These felt really soft but also very sturdy.

20180518_141502

I love getting brow spoolies because I use them all the time. I think the angled brush could be used for eyeliner or for brow products. Lastly, the fine tipped brush would be nice to use with gel liner, or even if you wanted to do a soft line using eye shadow.

Aesthetica P12 Face Brush
MSRP: $27.00 USD

20180518_141346

Again, I think it’s really great to get a tool that can be used with the face palette in the same box. It just makes it easy if you are building a collection of makeup or just don’t have a brush on hand. This domed and fluffy brush might work well with the PUR face palette either as a very soft contour brush or even to apply the highlight. I might use this brush to apply translucent powders but I’ll test it out and see how I like using it.

Beauty Creations Liquid Lip Gloss in Sweet Heart
MSRP: $10.00 USD

20180518_141726

This is a matte liquid lip gloss that provides full coverage and dries to a smooth matte finish. At first, I thought I received another nude colour but this is actually a berry colour which I’m way more excited for. I immediately tried it on my lips! I would need to wear lipliner with this (I’m not good at getting formulas like this within my lip line which is why I didn’t take a photo of it on). It’s super comfortable on and I liked the way it looked on.

My Thoughts

This box is great! I like that a lot of the makeup items came with brushes that they can be used with and I think the coverFX primer is something that I’d be interested to try. Total Value: $175.00 USD ($224.25 CAD) I think this is one of the highest value I’ve received from BoxyCharm, and I only pay about $35.00 CAD for it!

Cake Beauty Triple Citrus Blend Body Butter Cream
Full Size: $15.00 (200 ml), Sample Size: $4.50 (30 ml)

Topbox May 2018 (5)

I’ve received a Cake Beauty product in Topbox for a while but I knew eventually I would see this brand again! I do enjoy Cake Beauty because their body care smells really good and works really well on my skin. This body butter cream smells so good! I love citrus scents. The butter is good for ultra-dehydrated skin with shea butter for nourishment. Lately, my hands have been feeling extremely dry so I might save this for them.

Benefit Cosmetics BROWVO! Conditioning Eyebrow Primer
Full Size: $38.00 (3 ml), Sample Size: $11.40 (0.9 ml)

Topbox May 2018 (7)

According to the description of this product it conditions & smooths your brows when worn on its own. If worn as a primer it enhances & extends the wear of other brow products. I have another sample of this product which I’ve never used because I don’t see the need to add another step to my brow routine by using this as a primer. However, I might use it when I leave my brows bare just to help brush and condition them in place.

Nude By Nature Natural Glow Loose Bronzer
Full Size: $30.00 (10g), Sample Size: $7.60 (2g)

Topbox May 2018 (6)

I’m really excited to receive another item from Nude by Nature to try out. I’ve been using the primer I received last month in my Topbox and I really like it! I’ve never used loose bronzer but this might be really nice for the summer because it looks to have a nice glow!

BLAQ Hydrogel Eye Mask
One Pack (5 masks): $29.00, One Mask: $5.80

Topbox May 2018 (3)

This activated charcoal eye mask helps de-puff and detox around the eyes. I’ve been testing a lot of eye masks lately because I’ve had long days at work and need something to hydrate my skin. This has hyaluronic acid so I definitely think it will help with that!

Topbox May 2018 (4)

I’ve never seen this brand before so I went to their website to get more information. Blaq is an Australian skincare brand that builds their products around activated charcoal as their main ingredient. I am interested in the eye mask and would also want to try their Blaq mask and Blaq teeth whitening wand.

Bonus Item! Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes

Topbox May 2018 (2)

I haven’t used one of these in the longest time! This isn’t the best wipe for removing makeup, but if you want to use it to quickly cleanse your face when in a pinch this is great. I love this little packet because then I can take it with me on an overnight trip.

My Thoughts

What a great box! Topbox has really been stepping it up lately and each month I am more and more excited about the items I’ve been receiving. A lot of these items are perfect for spring/summer, such as the bronzer and even the body cream because the scent reminds me of warm weather. I love that the box included brands and products I have not used before. The total value of the box: $29.30 (excluding the bonus item)!

Do you subscribe to Topbox? If so, what did you get in your box and what are your thoughts?

Price: $21.00 USD (+$5.00 shipping to Canada)
Number of items: 4-5 full-size items

Boxycharm is a monthly subscription box of full-size makeup, skincare and beauty tools. The theme for this month is “Eye Candy”. I think it’s a really cute theme and there was an eyeshadow palette included in the box!

Colourpop Semi-Precious Eyeshadow Palette
Retail Price: $29.00 USD

UnboxingBoxyCharm_April 2018_LBL (9)

This is 8-pan shimmery shadow palette. I really like the range of colours in this palette and I think the pigmentation is great!

UnboxingBoxyCharm_April 2018_LBL (10)

I included some swatches below. Looking on the Boxycharm website, subscribers received one of five different colourpop eyeshadow palette. I look forward to using this in some eye looks.

Tarte Tartiest Pro Glow Liquid Highlighter in Exposed
Retail Price: $29.00 USD

UnboxingBoxyCharm_April 2018_LBL (7)

I don’t use too much liquid highlighter (if you’ve seen my project pan post, you understand my struggle to use up the Cover FX Liquid Highlighter sample!) I do like the shade of this highlighter and think it will work really well for my skin tone. I included a swatch below where you can see how glowy this appears. It has a few specks of sparkle but it’s not very noticeable and I really enjoyed how it looked on my shoulder so I might end up using it as a body highlight.

Dr. Brandt Pores No More Vacuum Cleaner
Retail Price: $47.00 USD

UnboxingBoxyCharm_April 2018_LBL (6)

The description of this mask says that it will unclog and tighten the look of pores. This is made for oily/combination skin, however, I would definitely use this in areas of my face that have clogged pores such us my nose area. I always enjoy receiving Dr. Brandt items. I feel like I’ve got quite a nice collection of their skincare line through BoxyCharm so I can really test the brand out.

The Brow Gal Instatint Tinted Eyebrow Gel
Retail Price: $22.00 USD

UnboxingBoxyCharm_April 2018_LBL (8)

This is a tinted eyebrow gel with microfibers that is meant to help achieve a natural hair look. My brows give me so much difficulty so I enjoy gels because they tend to hold my hairs in place. I received  this in the brown hair colour which should work on me. I didn’t want to open this because I have other brow products I’m using at the moment.

Adesse Hi-Definition Liquid Lipstick
Retail Price: $24.00 USD

UnboxingBoxyCharm_April 2018_LBL (5)

This didn’t have a shade name but based on my best guess from the website I think I got Haute Cocoa, which is a pretty deep nude colour. This is a sticky formula that is really shiny and thick. It has this chocolate candy scent which I love. I read a lot of positive reviews for this so I look forward to giving it a try!

My Thoughts

Once again BoxyCharm has sent a box of really great items. I look forward to using the Colourpop shadow palette. I’m also happy to have more Dr. Brandt items. All around this is a really awesome box. Total Value; $151.00 US ($194.45 CAD)!!

UnboxingBoxyCharm_April 2018_LBL (4)

I’ve been getting BoxyCharm for a year now and I must say that I think the subscription is really great. I use so many of the items and those that I don’t use make great gifts to friends and family. I’ve been tempted to invest in one more year of these boxes, but we will see I may just continue to get 3 months at a time.

Did you get BoxyCharm this month? What did you think of the items in this month’s box?

Unboxing BoxyCharm, December 2017

Price: $21.00 USD (+$5.00 shipping to Canada)
Number of items: 4-5 full-size items

Boxycharm is a monthly subscription box of full-size makeup, skincare and beauty tools. The theme for this month is “Glitz & Glam”. This is obviously a holiday-centric theme but I like that you can pretty much create a whole look with the items I received.

BoxyCharm Dec 2017_LBL (2)

As a quick update, I subscribed to BoxyCharm earlier this year and originally only thought I’d stick to a three-month subscription. It’s been some time and I’m really loving the box! It’s approx $33.00 when converted to CAD (with shipping) but I love the value of the box and I’ve been able to share or gift a lot of the items. I’m likely to stick with the subscription for a while.

Prices are in American Dollars, converted to Canadian at the end

RealHer Blush Kit
Retail Price: $32.00 USD

BoxyCharm Dec 2017_LBL (9)
This is the third time I’ve received RealHer products in my box but I do like the brand so far so I’m happy to get this blush trio.
BoxyCharm Dec 2017_LBL (1)I originally wasn’t sure if I was going to save this for myself or give it to someone else but after finding that the colours are muted I think I will keep it for myself. I like blushes that are light and buildable.

Beaute Basics Bronze Essentials
Retail Price: $39.95 USD
BoxyCharm Dec 2017_LBL (6)
I was excited about this bronzer until I opened it up and noticed the large strips of glitter. The card from BoxyCharm reads that you can use the pans individually or together.
BoxyCharm Dec 2017_LBL (7)
I like to use a big fluffy brush for bronzing so I’m not sure how well I’ll be able to only use it individually. I’ll give this a try to decide if I might be able to use it but I honestly see this as being something I’d use on my eyes instead.

Makeup Geek Showstopper Creme Stain
Retail Price: $12.00 USD
BoxyCharm Dec 2017_LBL (5)

I love receiving Makeup Geek in my BoxyCharm because I wouldn’t buy it on my own. This is a pretty nude that I would wear myself but I know my sister might like it better so I’m going to pass this along to her.  I’m not sure what the shade name is because it’s nowhere on the packaging.

Tarte Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara
Retail Price: $23.00 USD
BoxyCharm Dec 2017_LBL (8)
I love this mascara and I already have one that’s almost empty so I’m beyond excited to have a new one. This has a rubber brush tip and I like it for fanning out my lashes.

Vintage Cosmetics Illuminating Face Highlighter in Rose Gold
Retail Price: $32.00 USD
BoxyCharm Dec 2017_LBL (4)

I’m in love with the packaging on this product. It’s a heavy duty white plastic with gold detail. It’s so elegant. The highlighter itself is pretty and would work with my skin tone I just think it’s very glittery. I might not use this as a highlight but I think it would work for me as a blush topper or over the lids.

My Thoughts
This box is OK from BoxyCharm. Usually, I’m wowed by everything and this time around I’m feeling so-so. I was hoping that with it being the holidays I’d get something more sparkly or a lip colour that was more festive. I am very happy with the mascara, highlighter and blush set so there are some redeeming elements in this box. Total Retail value: $138.95 USD ($178.77 CAD!)

Did you get BoxyCharm this month? What was in your box?

Lots of Love,
Dal

Favourites From the Boxes, November 2017

Did anyone do any Black Friday Shopping? I found myself on the Sephora website at 5:00AM going through their offerings for Black Friday but other than that I didn’t do any shopping. There were quite a few deals and the mall nearby my work was crazy busy. For me it just really feels like November is coming to an end and Christmas will be here before we know it! I’m soooo excited! Anyways, I wanted to share some subscription box favourites below.

Royal & Langnickle Brushes
Received in: BoxyCharm February 2017 and BoxyCharm August 2017

I am so impressed with these brushes. They are extremely soft and blend my eyeshadow perfectly.
20171125_123916I’ll start with the gold set of brushes which I use as shader brushes. This came together as part of the Omnia line. The natural hair large shader brush is great for putting eyeshadow all over my lid. I also really love the synthetic smudger brush for smoking out my eyeliner or blending out the lower lash line. These brushes look really fancy and are super lightweight.

The next brush I received from a later Boxycharm box is this synthetic crease brush which came in a set of three from the Moda Pro line.

20171125_123756
The other brushes are for the face and I really like them. This guy is becoming my go-to for blending out the crease. I like it because it’s really fluffy but the tip is tapered so it keeps the eyeshadow in the area I place it. I also really love the design of this barrel. It’s rubberized with a cushion style pattern that makes it super comfortable to grip.

Buff Her House of Exfoliation Vanilla Almond Crumbles
Received in: Ipsy Glam Bag September 2016

20171125_123626I use this whenever I want to turn my face wash into a scrub. I like that I can add in as much or as little I want of this so that I can either have a light exfoliation or a stronger scrub.
20171125_123644They are very large granules so if I do put too much it can be irritating to the skin but a little pinch like the amount I have in my hand below is perfect for me.
20171125_123700I love using this mostly with my foaming wash because then I get a little bubbly exfoliation action going. The scent is very natural too which I do enjoy.

Shu Uemura Essence Absolute Nourishing Protective Oil
Received in: Topbox July 2015

20171125_123529
I’ve had this for such a long time now but the oil has held up super well. I have so many hair oils that I rotate through so it’s not a surprise to me that I still have about half a bottle of this left.
20171125_123609While my hair is damp I put about two pumps of this into my hair. I then will let it air dry or I’ll heat style my hair. This leaves my hair feeling really soft and less frizzy. I think this is one of the best items I’ve received in a Topbox, ever!

These were the products I wanted to share this month from my various subscription boxes.

Are there any items you’re enjoying from your subscription boxes?

Lots of Love,
Dal

Unboxing Topbox, November 2017

Price: $12.00 CAD (plus tax, free shipping) 4 items.

Topbox is a Canadian monthly beauty subscription service. Each month you have the option of getting a surprise box or to swap it for a prive box where all the products are from one brand and you know what they are. This month I opted for a surprise box!

I usually receive the Topbox spoiler email before the bag arrives in the mail and I ALWAYS read it! haha! This month, I tried hard not to open that email until after I saw the items so I could actually enjoy the surprise and I did!

Prices are in Canadian Dollars

What I received;

LARITZY Cosmetics Silicone Makeup Blender
Full size: $14.00, this is a full size item
Unboxing Topbox_November_LBL9

I once bought one of these silicone style blenders from Amazon and it was awful! It really just made my foundation look like it was sitting on my face and not blended in. This blender has a lot more bounce than the Amazon one does but I wasn’t too excited when I saw this in the bag. I did read in the description that these are useful for applying skincare too and I thought that might be better. I’m sure it would be great for spreading around a mask or something so I’ll give it a shot!

First Aid Beauty 5 in 1 Bouncy Mask
Full size: $38.00 (1.7 oz), Sample size: $7.60 (.34 oz)
Unboxing Topbox_November_LBL4
This is an item I’m excited about! This mask should nourish, calm, firm, plump and refine. I do enjoy First Aid Beauty products and I really hope that this delivers on all the things it promises to do. I also enjoy that this is safe for sensitive skin, is hypoallergenic and fragrance free!

Morgan Taylor Nail Lacquer in All Wrapped Up
Full size: $15.83, this is a full size item
Unboxing Topbox_November_LBL6

I’ve recieved Morgan Taylor Nail Lacquers before and I really enjoy this formula. Yes, I don’t wear nail polish, but my toes are just as important! haha! I might actually wear this for a holiday party or something because it’s just so festive! It’s a deep grey/purple with a lot of silver glitter.

Professional Sebastian Shaper Plus Extra Hold Hairspray
Full size: $24.14 (10.6 oz), Sample size: $3.10 (1.36 oz)
Unboxing Topbox_November_LBL8

I haven’t received a hair spray in any of my boxes in a long time so I’m pretty happy to get one now. I did a little search for this online and found that it was sold at Ulta (hurray that Ulta now ships to Canada!) and it has a 4.5 star rating. I don’t fuss too much with my hair, but again with the holidays around the corner I will use this to hold my styles in place. This is meant to be a 24hr hold (who tests this?) that’s not stiff or sticky. It’s also good for high humid areas, I’ll have no problem with that during winter!

My Thoughts
I’m super happy with my Topbox items this month. I get stuff that I’ll be able to wear/use for the holidays and winter rescue (aka the face mask). I’m not the most excited about the blender, but I’ll try it for skincare. Total Value: $40.53.

Did you get Topbox this month? Any items you are excited for?

Lots of Love,
Dal

Favourites From the Boxes, October 2017

I have been loving the products I’m about to list below for a while now but somehow I never put them into a favourites post yet. These actually sit right on my vanity so that I don’t forget to use them each day. I’m really excited to be sharing them now!

Dr. Roebuck’s Polish 2 in 1 Facial Scrub
Received in: Topbox, February 2017
Favourites_October_LBL2
I was beyond excited when I received this Prive box in February. This brand is geared for those with dry skin (ME!). This Australian based brand was started by two physician parents who developed Dr. Roebuck’s PURE to treat Eczema in their identical twin daughters. Today, the daughters continue to expand the line. There are so many awesome products and I so look forward to trying it all.

Whenever my skin is feeling extra tight and dry, aka winter time skin, I reach for this and I swear I’m instantly hydrated. I love this polish because it does something that no other scrub does for my skin – it exfoliates away impurities AND it leaves me crazy moisturized! If you have dry skin, this brand is a must!

Bella Aura Skincare (Eye Contour, Antioxidant Booster, Night Cellular Repair)
Received in: Multiple Topbox Subscriptions
Favourites_October_LBL3
Another skincare line that I’m really loving, Bella Aura feels like it’s helped keep my skin feeling youthful. I really don’t need to use a lot, so these have actually lasted me most of the year. Now, I change up my skincare pretty often, but I always come back to these little guys at least once a week. I use them all both day and night. I love that through Topbox, I’ve had a chance to try this line altogether to get a feel for how well it works, and man does it work wonders.

Ciate London Bamboo Bronzer in Palm Island
Received in: Ipsy Glam Bag, April 2017

I have a few bronzers in my makeup case, but lately, I’ve been really gravitating towards this one. This claims to have oil-controlling properties which should make me fear it might dry out my skin but luckily it doesn’t do that.

The packaging is really tiny which makes it hard to pick up with a big fluffy brush like I would like but if I want my bronzer to double as a contour I will use this. It’s slightly cooler than a lot of my other bronzers so it works really well on my neutral skin tone. It’s a very soft and fine formula which makes it easy to blend into my skin.
Favourites_October_LBL1Those are the products I’ve been loving from my boxes for a while now that I’m really happy to share. What are some products you’ve been enjoying from your subscription boxes? Have you tried any of the items I’ve listed above?

Lots of Love,
Dal
